Found the blog site where it's hosted, seeing if he's willing to provide a larger image, must have.. as... desktop background.

Believe this was taken in Italy where Rinaldo was driving it.

Love the look of the B7 RS4.... too bad it takes more then a pretty face to sell me. Not impressed with the power plant at all.... another missed opportunity for Audi to really hit one out of the park:^(

OMG! sick
I gues this is the best handling Audi right now? The older audi's have to much understeer.. I don't like them on a race track.
But this new RS4 wooooww I'm in luvvv:D

What's the hangup with the B7 RS4's power plant?

Comparing stock for stock with the B5, it's a more powerful engine, lighter, cleaner and likely more fuel efficient as well.

The engine sets records for piston velocities in a production engine. It matches or exceeds the best N/A engines from BMW, Porsche & Ferrari in terms of driveability. Audi set out to prove it can do what BMW can do, and it looks as if they achieved their goal. The Gauntlet has been thrown, will BMW step up with a biturbo engine to match Audi's best???

Autocar magazine is quoted as saying that the RS4's V8 is "the best V8 currently in production" this includes the 4.3 in the Ferrari F430!

Sure it doesn't have Turbos (my current car is a B5 S4) and I love turbos, but I have no doubt that this motor will earn high accolades from the entire industry.

I think everything will be fine. Audi has plenty of test cars out there with the Driving Experience and the DTM Safety Cars. Audi will get the relibility issues sorted, if there are any. I think it is just a rumor going around. Anyway, what could be so bad about a 420 Hp. V-8 anyway. No damn turbos and plumbing to break. I think all the conjecture and rumors should cease until the car is released and we can get some facts. Let's wait it out. Everyone in the U.S. said the A3 was going to be a flop. How wrong they turned out to be. It was the right car at the right time. The RS4 should do just fine IMHO.:rs4addict

Not to jump in (but OK, I will...:D ), but I agree. No, the RS 4 will not please everyone (especially someone who has an ultra sweet, heavily modded B5 S4!), but it will please everyone who owns it. I really did come away a believer.

Also, an excellent point that was brought up. Most of us that are disapointed are comparing this new Beast with modded cars or for that matter, cars not even in its class (thread comparing it to the new 911 for example). And no, it will not be quite as quick around a track as a CSL, but then again, it's not as expensive either.

I love everything about the new RS4. Including the pic on this thread. I already have an RS car in my stable, and it is the one that I really really wanted. I am sure that the RS4 will make extremely happy owners, just as my RS6 has done for me.

And as mine did for me. Amen.

Yep the RS4 won't be as moddable as the older RS4 or S4 w/ 2.7T but from what I've been reading, drivers will be impressed with the engine - gobs of torque at low end and then pulls all the way along with the sweet sound up high.

I like how Top Gear puts it... can't remember it word for word but was something like who cares about comparing it with the M3 and RS4, it's been done by everybody else, we just want to see whether it can get up a mountain faster than a climber :D

Great shot!:rs4addict Thanks for posting it.

At the end of the day comparing the new RS4 to the BMW M3 or new 911 won't make a lot of sense, since the driving characteristics (read "personality") of the cars will be so different.

Will it be a fun car:wo: , reliable :mech: and a lot of bang for the buck:thumb: ? It will probably be at least two out of the three, I bet, and we can only hope all of the above.
