One test I read lists the navigation system as a television navigation system. Since I am considering ordering this system on my US car, does anyone have any more information on this? Also, do you have to order the warm weather package in order to get a sunroof?

If you don't order the warm weather package in the US you still get a sunroof. The warm weather package adds the solar collector to the sunroof, the rear electric shade, and manual side shades. Possibly slightly darker tint on the glass too but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

The gps system with the moving map display & television is a NAV PLUS system that is not sold in the USA.

I recommend you buy a DVD-based aftermarket system like Pioneer or Alpine offers.

I have the Pioneer DVD system in my car and it covers the whole of EU.

Will it fit like a stock installation?

OK, so here's an introduction to what Pioneer offer. Please note that some systems may be available in the EU or US only.
In my opinion these systems offer a much better user interface. They're also DVD based so all of EU or entire US & Canada DVD Map Disc is included.
It will calculate 5-6 alternative routes from Stockholm to Italy in less than 10 seconds - it's fast! It will also find you hotels incl. phonenr., museums, outlets etc. etc.

On-Dash DVD Navigation/Video Package. This is the system I have and it works very nice. The TV you can bring with you if you leave the car in an unsafe area. There is also a larger display available. The head DVD-unit is installed hidden so you can have a CD-player in the DIN-slot. This system will also play DVD movies. :)

NAV-SYS900DVD. Navigate the streets, play DVDs and CDs.
I am not sure if this system will fit because of how the panel is designed in Audi.

Or you can try this 1DIN slot DVD-Navi. You won't get the same graphics (map etc.) but it will still take you there. If I bought a system today this is what I would get.

If you install one of these aftermarket DVD NAV systems in the RS6, is there an audio input on the factory stereo that can be used to carry the sound?

If you get the warm weather package the solar cell sunroof is installed- you cannot see through this sunroof at all- I have it in my A8 and it is very effective in keeping the car cool in the summertime but you sacrifice a glass sunroof. where are you ordering your RS 6 from? The NYC dealer just gave me a Sept. production date.

Actually the Navi-sound (male-female) in my Pioneer system comes from a speaker behind the TV and is easily adjusted from buttons on the TV. It has nothing to do with my other system for music although it could be installed together.
It is working great!

I do not know if there's an input anywhere in the factory system.
