Florida based Champion Racing now has 2 race prepared Audi RS6 for the SPEED World Challenge GT.
First race is 14:th of March at Sebring.
Champion Racing spent two days at local Moroso Motorsports Park this week, shaking down their all-new Audi RS-6 World Challenge GT contender for reigning SPEED GT champ Michael Galati and Champion newcomer Randy Pobst. Derek Bell also drove the 4.2L twin-turbo V8-powered RS-6.
Champion's driver squad for the Sebring 12 Hours and Le Mans 24 - Emanuele Pirro, JJ Lehto and Stefan Johansson - were on hand with the team's full 2002-spec Audi R8. A smiling JJ remarked after his first-ever R8 run: “It’s got just so much grip - you can take an amazing amount of speed in to a corner. It’s not just an aerodynamic thing - the mechanical grip is awesome. This is one unbelievably good car.” JJ carved over two seconds off the current Moroso track record after less than a dozen laps' experience in the car. Lehto will contest the full ALMS schedule with Champion, partnered (except at Sebring and Le Mans) with Johnny Herbert, who returns for his third season with Champion. Herbert will drive for Team Bentley at Sebring and Le Mans.
