"The Auto Union racing cars were high-tech products in their time. They stood for supreme achievements in motor-vehicle construction that concentrated above all on high-performance engines, aerodynamic design and the systematic use of lightweight construction. The Auto Union car with streamlined fairing and an output of 545 horsepower was the first to exceed a speed of 400 km/h on a normal road."

Yes, I have a model of that very same car in my guess room (along with about 100 others:D ). But just because Hitler convinced those brave, crazy pilots to drive that beast with the Porsche engine (resulting in his death), doesn't mean the Veyron isn't impressive. Those were designated top of the line race cars (actually, a heavily moddified race car), by no means street legal.

It would be like nowadays taking a F1 car, taking away all power and aero restrictors and roping off a section of Autobahn so it could crack the 300mph barrier. Then 60 years later, a street legal car accomplishes the same feat, only to be said, "that's not impressive, a F1 car did that years ago!".

Veyron=impressive!
