My S4 was entered in the EuroTuner Shoot out last week by STaSIS engineering. I will not give the results as the magazine will not be released until December.

But I was VERY please with how the car performed. Paul Lambert (owner of STaSIS) drove my car and two others.

Here is the EuroTuner website.

It' obvious that I will buy this edition of the EuroTuner magazine. The cars in this competition are really cool, but your S4 is definitively the best looking car of the bunch IMO. :thumb:

Your enthusiasm Bauer lets me persuade that your car is on the podium, at least I hope for it... http://www.audipassion.com/services/forums/style_emoticons/default/winner.gif

Those wood style stickers on your car are awesome !

Cheers.

thanks man.
what an awsome sounding beast!

what type of exhaust it that?

Bauer
October 6th, 2005, 07:13
The exhaust is a custom one. Dual 2.5 inch into 3.5 inch single. Removeable cats and muffler (V banded). The muffler is a Magna Flow. The system does have a small resinator that does not V band in an out.

best pic I have of the exhaust, sorry.

Eric,

Thanks!!! It has been a pretty long road getting it together... but she is just about done. That is until I can get some GT25 or GT28 Turbos on her..... then the fun will really start:hahahehe:

Bauer, what is the advantage of the half-moon shaped drilling on the brake disc vs. holes / vents.

You are a cruel hearted son of a biscuit! You KNEW I would be hooked after watching that flick! You are just pure evil! Dang it! Now I'm going to have to start looking for a used S4 and then proceed to call the guys at STaSIS!

I'm going to hold you personally responsible!:p

Very sweet ride there. I know you've invited me up for a ride and I promise as soon as I can get away, I'm come up to see it in action!

The vents are actually better then the holes.. as for the half moon shapes... better pedal feel and less crack propagation So I am told

Holes look cool but actually are worse. They clog up and cause the rotors to crack easier and do not cool any better. They became popular when Porsche started with it on the early cars.

Ben,

I am the DEVIL:bye2:

Well, if you can't control yourself son.... no ride for you:D

Car is very addictive... are you going to Laguna for the ALMS? The car will be there at the STaSIS tent as I will be out of town at a wedding. Just tell Jason to take you for a ride:wo: Car sould still be on the 109 octane.

You still up in the air About Sears in Nov?

Don't worry Bauer, I promise not to make a mess on your seats.;)

Nope, won't be making the ALMS this month (Jimmy and Chris were asking me earlier) and won't be making the November Infineon event (workdays).

Worse case senario, I could always drive up on a weekend just to take a ride in it. I would be glad to ask Jason for a ride, but I'd prefer to wait till your in town and then you could show me the car and explain all the "birthing pains".:D

I've been paying close attention to how your project has been coming along and I'm more hooked than ever.:thumb:

Ben,

I dont know when the next Buttonwillow or Streets event will be.... maybe even Pahrump... do you think you will be trying to hit any of them, work depending?

very nice dyno results!

Thanks.... I would like to get a set up that gives me 475 to 500 whp... but I will need to go to GT 25 or GT 28 turbos and some different internals.... we will see.:mech:

If any are on a weekend, then yes, I'll come up. If they're on work days, then NO, it's against my religion.:p

Trying, I'm really trying to make one...

If you look at the photo above, how come the left tires and the right tires are completely different???? (pay attention to the grooves of the tires) :wo:

Bauer - what a fantastic car - i've always thought (looking at the pics) that your custom made exhaust sounds nice - but it SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN - together with the close ratio shift - WOW!

Congrats on the article.....!

Iammingy,

We were tying to see if we could fit 265's whith the right alingment set up... but 245 hoosiers are the biggest we could go in a slick... but I can fit Dunlop SSR's in 255's on there... just not the 265's.

The left is 235 and right is 265.:D

Cdo,

Thanks....I am very happy with how the car has turned out so far. Still no cage yet... still deciding on full or half... probably at this point will go half.:s4addict:

Bauer,

What does it take to fit 265s? I've heard of S4s with them. I've even heard of S4s with 275 (but only after the RS 4 "conversion").

265 Right/235 Left? Was the track mostly left turns?

Ben:addict:

Bauer

you need widebody conversion to get 265's and 275's. I have considered it... but 12k on body work really starts to get out of control.

you mean mostly right hand truns?

No, left.

If you have more tire on the right (you said 265 Right/235 Left), wouldn't it make more sense to have the bigger tire on the outside?

If the track is mostly right hand turns, then the left side of the vehicle now becomes the side with the most weight transfer. Simply speaking, on circle track (left turn only), most guys will cheat and use a bigger tire on the rightside (or "outside") of the car for better turn in. As the bigger tire has better grip, and as weight transfers to the right (in a lefthand turn), the bigger tire does a better job than a skinny one. More important though is the bigger resistance. Example, tip a paper cup over and watch how it rolls. It will always roll TOWARDs the smaller circumference as that is the side with less resistance. Even though the 235/265s may have similar outer diameters, the principal is the same, more vs less resistance.

So, if you are running 265 Right/ 235 Left, that is why I was under the impression that the track had mostly LEFT hand turns since it doesn't make much sense to have the bigger tire on the "inside". Always want it on the "outside".

Ben,

Sorry..... I misunderstood where the question originated from... but the set up in the picture was for fitting ONLY. Sorry ... did not run it that way and would not:D :D

Just seeing how big we could go.

FYI Steets of Willows is mostly right hand turns.:incar:

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if maybe you guys were at a different track.

"was for fitting ONLY.", now I understand. For a second there, I thought maybe I was going crazy or something.:D

Ben:addict: P.S. 255s fit OK, don't they?

Bauer
October 9th, 2005, 19:35
Ben,

255's will fit in a 35 sidewall..... it is very close but they will.
