O.k., so I just received my order form. NO aluminum trim for the interior...
I thought this was an option, at least in the Euro spec cars? Am I mistaken?
If it exists, I want to order mine with that, so could someone please shoot me the
order code for it. Thanks a heap.

Aluminium trim is standard on the A6, at least when I bought mine last year. It looks good but why why why do you not get the carbon fibre?

Because the carbon fibre is TOO RICEBOY!
The Aluminium Trim and the Piano Black Lacqueur look much better in a proper motor car

Taste is different. I am happy as long as I don't get the 'rain forest' look. Black piano is nice and was considered, but too hard to clean all the time.

To answer your question, check here. No aluminium to be found in EU either.

I ordered mine with matt aluminium inlets and I am 100% sure they did indeed stick them in there since I've seen my car in the production line today :)

Great, Patrick! From one Patrick to another, thanks for the info. Aluminum, it is, then...
I guess I can pull the order code from the dealership.

Cheers,

According to my order confirmation it is "5TG" for round about EUR 500,00.

Hope this helps.

Great...thank you. I will order it in the next couple of days. I'm still trying to \
decide between Avus and Daytona on the exterior. I'm leaning
towards Daytona at this point. Silver's just so easy to keep clean...or
keep looking clean even when it's not.

I have seen various RS6 Avants and sedans in Avussilver and honestly, I don't like it. The RS4 is beautiful in Avussilver, I bet I'd buy one if I ever had to decide again. But with the RS6, it just doesn't cut it.

Just my $0.02

Yeah...my S4 Avant is Avus. I was using that as a benchmark. I love the way it looks in
that color. Very sleek and as everyone knows, silver is faster. :cool2:

Could people in Europe or the UK post the otion codes for the 19" wheels and the code for the side mirrors to be painted in the body color? Also, Frutty, I do not believe you will find aluminum trim available in the US. However, I believe all of us in the US should include on the order any option code we each want for your car even though they currently do not list it on the US ordering sheet. Perhaps, if we all tell our dealers/AudiUSA what we really want they may decide to accommodate some of our requests. I find it appalling that, exclusive of safety and emmision compliance, the Audi factory and GmBH is completely set up to build each car to Customer specification throughout the World! Duh, ... except, for USA customers. Who's brilliant decision is this? Did any current Audi owners in the US respond to a marketing survery which formed the basis of these decisions? I think NOT!!

Scoop,
Thanks for the codes. Does anyone have the following:

Twin Pane Heat & UV Glass
Rear Window Blind, electric, with manual side shades (Saloon)

I have my dealer checking into the aluminum trim for me...
Don't know about the rims, as I plan to put new ones on anyway.
The body color sideviews would be nice, though.

Benman,
Yes, I'm aware that the warm weather package, PWX in the US Ordering Guide, provides the shades for the RS6. The seperate option for the rear and side shades was available for the US 2000 A6, 4.2, unfortunately, not until my 4.2 was built and on the ship.
However, there appears to be a separate RS6 option in the UK for the Shades without ordering the Solar roof panel. This would be a nice option to avoid giving up the glass sun roof. Does anyone in the UK know the code?
Thanks, Jim

Jimmy,

Hey man, sorry to have mislead you. I was under a false impression.
For some reason, I was remembering my Avant as being Avus, and for the life of me
I couldn't understand why you'd want to see pictures of my car when you
have a 4.2 in exactly the same color?!?!?

Then...

"The clouds parted; the sunlight poured through the sky like a golden
rain.........................of bricks, and hit me in the noodle."

O.K., enough with the similes. I realized that our color was "light silver metallic",
and not Avus silver. I new the colors were different on the B/C5 series
versus the RS6, as I have seen the special edition TT in the Avus silver(and it looked
great; slightly darker and more gray than the light metallic, and with a more deep blue-ish hue you spoke of),
but I just figured they had remade the color and kept the same name. :trash:

Silly rabbit, me!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pics and weren't too disappointed.
I am now enlightened, and a bit embarassed <heh>.

 :error:

Fru-T

P.S. S/one posted on the A6 forum, I believe, requesting a pic of that same limited
edition TT. You might want to keep an eye on that thread.
