Hi there!

Wonder if anyone got experience with some larger / better brakes? Both in general and especially for the B5.

Bauer => you got some nice Alcon 6 Piston 355's on your trackcar. Is that the best ? Where can i get a set ? For how much ? By the way - what about your new shortend 3rd, 4 th and 5th gearbox ?

I've also seen the MOV-IT website, they offer a lot of different sizes. I think up to 370 x 35 (for the RS4, but they will fit mine to?).

For now i've Original 17" Audi winter, and 18" OZ Opera II for summer (and Borbet 18" for race). But how big can the brakes be with 17" wheels. I considering selling the winterwheels, because i want to have the best brakes possible for the summer tracksdays.

Hope there's someone who can give some advice....!

if you want the best, ring up Guido at Mov'it and explain your requirements. He will be happy to help you.

I got the Alcon's from STaSIS in California....they are a UK Product so you should be able to find a local retailer...I paid $3600 USD If I recall correctly...also came with rear rotors.

As Nord says the Mov-IT are aslo very good...although I have no personal experience with them.

I have been EXTREMELY happy with my set up.

If you call STaSIS I am sure they could point you in the right direction.

R + C => Thanks, i think i'll call Guido, and hear what he has to offer

Bauer => Thanks for the link - looks very nice :hahahehe:
What about your new transmission :vhmmm:

Audihead => I've got some nice connections to Germany and all the original parts, but will they fit ? Isn't Porsche Big Reds Brembo like many other "original" brake systems ?

Yep. A lot of my friends that have track cars run them. Very good brakes.:0:

cdo-

I picked the car up Saturday and the dropped it off with STaSIS to set the suspemsion up and fix and exhaust leak....so I did not really get a chance to run the car....I also want to brake the new clutch and flywheel in before I drive the car hard.

I put a 6 puck clutch in it ....I am pleased with how it feels....not to jittery at all....pretty smooth

I will let you know once I drive it more.

MOV'IT use Porsche brake parts and they are good.
I think that you can also install the "Lambo Gallardo"/"new Audi RS4" 8-pod brakes.
But you need 18" or 19" wheels for most of the availeble brake upgrades.

Mov'it does not use Porsche brake parts. In the (distant) past Porsche parts were used. Then Mov'it sourced direct from Brembo, then Mov'it had Brembo manufacture callipers to Mov'it's own design.

Now Mov'it manufactures its own design monoboc callipers in house.

The rotors are made to Mov'it's own design by a specialist German Foundry.

The Brembo 8 piston callipers used on the Gallardo are not very good, inferior to the Mov'it 6 piston monibloc, in fact. The Gallardo rotor is terrible. Lamborghini has moved away from this design on the Murcielago and is expected to follow suit with the Gallardo.
