Damn, Erik. I wish I had known you were there. I spent the day at the TGP also and would like to have met you. I shot over a gig of photos -- many of the same cars (you're a better photographer). Never saw such a silly thing as the drifting. Had to love the go-kart.

On my trip, we rented a 750 BMW and toured AMG, RUF, Porsche (Leipzig, Zuffenhausen and Weissach), TechArt, Stuttgart Univ. wind tunnel, M-B museum and Rosso-Bianco museum. Also, drove to Nurburgring, but too late to make a lap. What a trip! Sure is hard to obey the law now that I am home.

That is a REAL shame you missed the Nordschleife! There is no substitute for it.

The misses and I are heading to Munich in later September for some Oktober festivites:cheers: ...may try and head to the Audi factory but who knows...won't have time to go to Nord:( as we are heading south to Austria and Italy for a few weeks.

It is not comparable to ANY track experience you've ever enjoyed. No helmet, no instructor, no set class of cars (you have guys in Ferraris on the track SAME time as Papas in minivans FILMING while driving with family in car, with 1200CC bikes blasting down the straights!:bigeyes:

My first time was like "what, no special permit? No helmet, gloves or anything else? I don't even have to show that the vehicle is mine???" Just buy a ticket and GO!!

I'll be out the end of June and will be meeting up with some of guys from the forum. Also I'm planning to spend at least 8-12 hours of Nordschleife time (48-72 laps)!

What part of Italy and Austria are you heading to?
