Despite my concerns about cramped quarters, I plopped down a deposit to secure my place in line for the RS4.

Dealer seemed of the opinion that:

-no way an RS4 Avant will see US shores.
-S6 is doubtful. S6 Avant even moreso.
-RS6 in 2 years. V10.

Also, he warned me against buying out my current S6 lease, which is an option that I had considered as I love the car. He said the residual would be way higher than the cars actual value. Anyone have any experience with this? I've been trying to find a link to Audi financial so I could do some math, but I can't find the correct sight (so I can log in and see my lease details). I suppose if I really want to, no one will stop me.

Well, at any rate, at least I've got my place in line, so I can't lose, right!?!?!

Hey,

Will be getting more data tomorrow hopefully, as the 'Head Honcho' was out driving the A3 with some journalists. Damn Press Launch !! :D

Info that's pretty solid:

--72K+/- Loaded.(usa)
--Steering wheel still undecided.
--S4 Recaro's standard, will probably be able to retro fit Euro seats in afterwards. $$$$
--April 2006 (latest) for first batch to hit our shores.
--Premium pakcage to be offered. (moon roof, homelink, etc)(added weight)
--Power back windows.(more weight)
--Avant might not make it, but not 110%.

I joked about the US getting more HP to make up for the extra 85-100lbs the US version will carry.
Probably NOT !!

Avant's will be seen in Frankfurt.
We're hoping to see one in Barcelona. :D

Forgot to ask about the S6.

RS6 is 2008MY in Europe.
So, mid 2008MY for us probably.
V10 with DSG.... DAMN, is all I have to say !!!
M5 watch out....

Thanks for the udate. An April release here would be cool (earlier than expected).

Sucks that the seats are not coming and that the steering wheel is still up in the air, but good news nontheless. Seems as though my guess for the price was spot on. Some (hoping for SUB $70K) will be dissapointed, but I think the Mini Beast will live up to the price.

Actually, if it DID go $75K+, I could see a LOT of potential RS 4 buyers jumping ship over to the upcoming M3.
