I am not sure what was the brand of the product that Audoband uses. I don't believe it to be 3M though, so it's possible it is the XPel stuff, but can't say with 100% certainty. The XPel pix though seem to go a bit higher into the hood than my original stuff did. Just make sure you get a lifetime warranty on the product, and they should redo the front if it gets bad after 1-2 years.
They offered to redo the car, front and back, and I declined.

Xpel uses 3M product for their bra's....I have it on my RS6 and love it.....its going on my S4 as soon as the paint cures....and I wish I had known about it when I got the S8.

I got my 3M film protection thru Paintshield (aka Bikeshield). Applied Aug-Sep 03, soon after delivery, and I'm very satisfied after 19 months & 37K miles. The film has taken hits that undoubtedly would have nicked my finish, but didn't.

As for guarantee, mine is for four years, and vendor said I shouldn't keep it on longer than that anyway. Paintshield said it is very durable but eventually would turn brittle & become difficult to remove if left on too long, if I recall correctly.

Just be careful when washing and waxing. Washing motion should be away from the exposed edges, or to the side on the hood, but never towards the edge because that will force dirt against the edge & possibly under it. When waxing, leave a thin strip of unwaxed finish near the edge; otherwise wax can build up at the edge & it will show more.

Also avoid using fingernails & other hard stuff to try to remove dirt on edges, since that can leave scratches that may show up when the film is removed. Best way to clean edges is with high pressure water in my opinion.

I agree. I've really liked mine as well.

I've also heard to only keep it on for a few years. All clear bras will fade over time (turn yellow) and will get a little more difficult to remove if left for too long. You can replace as often as you want.

X-Pel developed their kit design on an RS 6 in San Antonio. My car was the first RS 6 to have the kit applied, Aug. 15, 2003 Excellent fit and finish by the installer. I added strips on sills below the doors, on the rear bumper below the trunk lid and fender flares. It has held up very well. My wife has a kit on her TT 3.2. We won't leave home without it (smile), or have a new vehicle which doesn't get a clear bra treatment.

Huge BWW -- For us RS6 owners, it's an awesome kit. I had a local shop do it and they took care of all the little extras as well. They are: The Plastic Surgeons, Inc., located in Burr Ridge, IL. Tim Kirlin. If you want more info on them, let me know.

They use 3M Aerospace plastics, NOT Automotive plastics. More expensive, but much greater scratch/nick resistance and greater elasticity. For the Race Package they installed, they used a product called Venture, which is twice the thickness of the 3M, harder to work with, but offers even greater protection in the tougher areas. More on the Race Package in a minute.

The pattern used for the RS6 is done by Expel. It covers every little square inch of the front end, even tucking in nicely under the foglight
lenses. It's a great pattern used.

The Race Package, which is all done freehand, includes coverage on the inside wheel wells, in front of and behind all the wheel wells, the
ENTIRE lower sills, replacement of the OEM plastic Audi uses at the front of rear wheel flares (crappy and yellowed already) and any other forward facing area that might typically get blasted harder as a result of tracking the car. They also covered my headlights and the door edge guards for all four doors in a very thin strip.

They warrant their work for the lifetime of ownership and the product itself carries a 5 year warranty. Now, for the pics:
