I like the car but I do not like the sloped roof in the back.

Audi can keep that car (ahem.. SUV), it's a total contradiction to "Never Follow" and for that matter "Advancement through Technology". They come out in the market DEAD last with a  SUV. Not exciting IMHO. If I want all wheel drive vehicle with lots of luggage space I'll get the A6 4.2 Avant.

The logo belongs to a big German metal company, I forget the name. You can probably find the logo on the chassis of your own car.

It's so hard to judge new models before you see them outside in the flesh (metal) without any disguise. You have to remember that a car is essentially a gigantic mirror and relies on exterior light to emphasise its shape and form. That said, I find myself agreeing with the comments made: the Q7 does look a bit clumsy from the back.

Whatever this car looks like, it has to deliver dynamically. Audi knows it's coming to market late. It knows it needs to be impressive. Audi's Quattro reputation mandates a mother of all SUVs. That said, it also knows that any SUV that offers 7 seats will sell well, because it immediately becomes an alternative to an ugly people carrier. But the Q7 will still need to have proper SUV credentials.

Audi's Quattro system with air suspension plus a 4.0 litre V8 common rail diesel will certainly give it impressive traction and comfort in all road conditions, winter and summer. While it may not have the high and low ratio gearbox of the Touareg, I fully expect it to have a transmission that will enable it to negotiate steep slopes, seriously rutted tracks and uneven ground. Crossing ploughed fields and racing through soft mud may not be its forte, but an appropriate choice of tyre can make a huge difference.

For many friends, the RS6 and A6-Allroad are excellent alternatives to SUVs. You get most of the advantages with very few of the disadvantages IMHO. I'd even go as far to say that the A6-Allroad is an extremely under-rated car. Loads of space, excelllent ground clearance and it's even the choice of the British Royal Family no less! (Charles and Camilla have one.) So the Q7 is going to have to deliver. If it doesn't Mercedes-Benz has both the M-Class and G-Class waiting in the wings. Both use a similar engineering solution to that of the Q7 and early signs are that the new M-Class is an exceptional car. People seem to agree that it also looks pretty good too.

As for me, i will be very happy in my RS4 Avant until the next RS6 comes along.

Have a look at this comparison...Whatever happened to the Pikes Peak??? I am having second thought about getting one now. They should have stuck with the PP's design and just changed the name.

I think with the last two pics posted it appears that the Audi is a "perfect" mix between the Chrysler Pacifica and the Infiniti FX. NOT original!

In fact, I think the FX looks better, a more simple, clean design, whereas the Audi looks too busy/ messy.

Pikes Peak was a sweet very very good looking SUV.What I can see in the pics above is nothing like that.I realize that its a test mule and that actual production car will differ, but 4 now I think its a well UGLY car. Please prove me wrong:)

Ewww if I weren't so godawfully poor I would not even think about buying one of those Audi SUV's.

Anyways, that logo up front looks like the one used by the ThyssenKrupp group.

I'm glad I didn't wait for that car to come out.......I bought my wife the Cayenne.

I can' t believe Audi would deviate so far from the concept Pikes Peak.......and that grill?!?!.......it still hasn't grown on me.......but I'm sure it will eventually.
