Just as the original Shelby GT500 was the "step up" to big-block power from the GT350, the new Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 steps up to Ford's 5.4-liter "MOD" V-8. The result? The GT500 is the most powerful factory Mustang ever. Its supercharged 5.4-liter, 32-valve V-8 evolves from SVT's experience with supercharging the "MOD" engine to deliver more than 450 horsepower and 450 foot-pounds of torque.

I'm not a big fan of Ford cars, but the Mustang went right tomy heart!! :D But this Shelby is even BETTER!!! :D GIMME!!! :P

I like others have to admit that FORD did a great job with this new Mustang and this Shelgy is even better looking... it looks a little mean and angry.

I was in Dallas a few weeks ago and stopped by Unique Performance. American Iron doesn't really do it for me, but I had to see these. I was tempted, I mean really tempted. The Super Snake has 700+ HP with a supercharger. They should be able to squeeze more than 450 out of that. These are bona fide Shelbys.

I have NEVER been a fan of Ford. Never. That said, this will be a fantastic value for the $$$. They are promising that the base model will sticker for sub $40K (read $39,999.99). It will have "at least 450" (read close to 500). When asked about the live axle, SVT boss Fernandez said, drive it and THEN judge for yourself.

This seems to be and even BETTER bang for the buck then the upcoming Z06 (which is a SWEET bang for buck when compared to cars like the F430).

this is one american car i will def buy. i think the lines are good. the power is awesome! and the car will be raw and be a good example of american muscle cars. I want one!
