According to an official press release for the new A6 Avant, where the Austrian importeur gives outlook on the upcomming eingine combinations (2.0 TDI, 2.7 TDI quattro Tiptronic,...)

at the end there is this info :deal:

A6 Avant S6 420 HP Tiptronic 1st half of 2006 :dance:

NO word on cylinders or displacement. But their info till now was always accurate.

Let the speculations beginn - will it be the RS4 engine or a detuned Gallardo V10?

Some further interesting figures about the Austrian market:

Motormix for 2004 (was still the A6 Avant C5 model):

95% Diesel -> TDI
05% Gasoline

22% 4 cylinder
75% V6 (mainly 2.5 TDI 180 HP)
03% V8 - there are the Austrian RS6 hidden :applause:

More then 50% of the A6 Avant had quattro

great, trying to talk my wife into an A6 Avant (wants one of the crossbread little sport ute things.....room for two kids and dog, bs.....)

A6 Avant with some balls would be nice...

The Q7 is shaping up to be pretty cool. Edmunds says it might get the V10 afterall.

Of course, they probably won't bring that version the the US:rolleyes:
