So it WON another Award.....

Audi A6 wins Europe’s “Auto1”

:wo::bow: Yeah Audi...:cool2: :D :bigeyes:

-------------------------------------------------------------

"Another trophy for the multiple winner: the Audi A6 has won Europe’s “Auto1” 2005 title. In winning this award, Audi’s executive saloon clearly outdistanced its nine competitors remaining in the final. Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, took receipt of the award while attending the Geneva Motor Show. Following numerous national trophies and victory in the “World Car of the Year” award, this is the latest stage in the success story of the new Audi A6, which was only launched in 2004.

The annual competition to find the winner of the “Auto1” title is held by the German trade magazine “Autobild” and its sister publications in a total of 21 European countries. In the first round, it was the readers’ turn to vote in national qualifying contests: the Audi A6 was the winner in five countries, including Germany, Europe’s biggest car market. The overall result for all European reader votes was also dominated by the A6, clearly ahead of its rivals.

In the final round, the top ten competitors faced a 35-strong jury of experts. Engineers, racing drivers and motor journalists subjected the candidates to an extensive and challenging test on a proving ground in Vizzola, Italy. The new Audi A6 impressed the jury members in equal measure with its dynamic performance, comfort, luxury equipment and excellent spaciousness.

WOW:eek:

That Red on the A6 in the link, is baaaaad. It really is a beaut. I wish though, living in NC, USA; that we didnt have to have the liscense plate holder, or the replacment thing, and we could just have a huge trapazodial grill. It seems to me Audi should design either a plate holder that could snap onto the grill, or have a holder that matches exactly the grill. I hope Audi reads this. To me it is kinda like the A4 when it came out, and had the black plastic around the bottom. That was phased out. Hopefully the plate holder could be optional for those in a state that doesnt require a front plate. Just some thoughts from the Tarheel state!!:thumb:

And also this Award.... its a bit funny because its between Audi, Lambo, and SEAT.. but what the help...

"INGOLSTADT, Germany - Walter de’Silva, Head of Design for the Audi brand group, collects "The World’s most Beautiful Automobile 2004" awards for Audi, SEAT and Lamborghini at a ceremony in Milan. As announced in November, the Audi A6 was named as winner in the large saloon category, the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster won the supercar category, while the SEAT Altea was given a special award.

In 2004, the Audi brand group increased its unit sales, revenues and profits by 0.4%, 3.3% and 10.7% respectively. This was driven by an increase in demand for outstandingly designed and engineered cars such as the A6, Murciélago Roadster and Altea. All three cars have received many awards, in particular the Audi A6 which has won nearly every important European award, such as the Golden Steering Wheel and Europe's Auto1, as well as the World Car of the Year Award."

im not sure what other car manufactures were included in this study, so im not sure of the relevance of this award. However, construction of the proper frame and methods used does add up to proper engineering.

"AUDI AG is the first EuroCarBody award winner to win eminent EuroCarBody Award twice in a row. "

Great Job Audi AG!:applause:

“The close connection between expertise and skill in the complex process chain of the car body is particularly acknowledged through this exclusive award,” said Fritz Ebert, President of Automotive Circle International, on the occasion of the “EuroCarBody Award 2004” presentation ceremony in Neckarsulm today.

“We are extremely proud that for the second time in a row a model from the Audi production plant at Neckarsulm is amongst the winners. This confirms our consistent efforts and the level of expertise we have achieved in the field of lightweight body construction,” said Plant Manager Jürgen Lunemann. In 2003 the Audi A8 won the EuroCarBody Award.

The European prize for innovation, which is awarded annually by Automotive Circle International and its international committee, is the highest accolade in European car body construction. Over 400 international car body experts from Europe, USA, Japan and Korea cast their votes to choose the winners.

The experts voted on 18 series-manufactured car bodies – 16 of which were world premieres – in the four areas of innovative design and construction concepts, innovative further development of materials and semi-finished products, innovative production procedures and processes and methods from the press shop through to the painted body, along with the presentation of benefit to the customer.
