The map says San Fransisco but the pictures says Germany.
Where this car is located is hard to tell, but I bet the car is stuck in Germany and not on some boat or even in SF.

"This is a fully loaded AUDI RS6 AVANT one of the most powerfull street cars in world"
:deal:

70.000 USD

Not sure what to think:

Miles: 2,400 or "new vehicle" :eye:

It looks like a really nice car with color and option. I love black!

to quattro and all other members of this forum.

because we live in such a politically correct world i will not say
anything to get either myself or this great forum in trouble. i will
only state what i know for a fact.
a couple of weeks ago i saw the very same RS6 avant for sale at www.autotrader.com. considering the price and the fact that
the u.s. will not get any wagons stateside i was extremely
interested. so of course i called the phone# listed to get info.
however when i called there was only a message stating the #
was no longer in service. so next i emailed www.autotrader.com
(they did not have his email address listed) so they could contact the seller for me. he did email me later and stated that the vehicle
in question was in fact a u.s. spec model. i told him that audi had
said no wagons would come to the u.s. but he replied that he
knew the audi chairman and this was indeed a special car!
he told me the best way to do the transaction was to use
www.escrowbay.com. he instructed me to deposit $21,000.00
into the account and once they told him that they had received
my deposit he would ship the car. we put in writing that he
would be responsible for all shipping, escrow and dock fees.
we also put into writing that i would be able to take the car to
any audi dealer that i wanted to so i could verify the warranty
and validate the car.
when i looked into where (or what bank ) my deposit was
going to is where i ran into a problem. when i called the
customer support # on escrowbay's website i only got a recording
no real person ever answered. the message kept saying that
the # was temporally unavailable(for 6 days the same message).
i decided to contact a different online esrow company so
i did a engine search and typed (escrow online). the first
company to come up was www.escrow.com . they turned out to
be one of the preferred companies for www.ebay.com.
( by the way on that same engine search www.escrowbay.com
was not even mentioned in the first 100 entries.)
when i called www.escrow.com's support # it only took 30
seconds before i was able to speak with a real live person.
when i asked if she was familiar with www.escrowbay.com she
answered no. this did not prove anything but when she went to
their website while i was on hold she could not find their
licenced and accredited #. she instructed me to call the california
state government and see if www.escrowbay.com was registered
with them. when i called my state government they informed me
that www.escrowbay.com was not registered with them.
however www.escrow.com was.
i then contacted the ohio state government ( they say on their
website they are located in cincinnati, ohio) sure enough the
secretary of state for ohio also had no listing of a company
called escrowbay. not .com not anything. they had nothing in
their records. they advised me that if infact www.escrowbay.com
was doing business then it was not recognized by the ohio state
government(in other words it would be illegal for them to do
business in that or any other state.
because of reasons stated at the beginning of this letter i will
not give out this persons name or email address. however i
would like to point out that anyone still considering doing
business with this person do the research. since my first contact
i have seen other RS6 wagons on www.autotrader.com. all
are posted by the same person. and all are promised to be u.s.
spec vehicles. by the way, when i asked him if he would use
www.escrow.com he refused!!!

again, i can not say for sure if this person knows that the
escrow company is illegal or not since i have terminated contact
with him once he refused to use a diferrent escrow company.
i am happy to say that i did not lose any money and i hope
that by me posting this no one on this forum will make a mistake
that could cost them thousands of dollars

audi fan forever,
benman

@Benman...

good investegation work!!! That will open many eyes and ears on this forum.

Of course you could never know everything, but if someone is not sure about a certain car....just ask for help, or put it on the forum.
As special car owners/lovers we must help each other, and it's good to share info about those rare cars.
There will be always some rotten apples around the globe that like to screw up some people....

Yeah. Ben...I followed up on that lead with Robin's assistance.
Totally seemed like a charlatan to me... I was corresponding with the guy via
email for several days, and he could/would never produce a VIN.

I won't get into specifics, but te guy claimed to be a U.S. citizen working for the
ARMY at the U.S. Air Force base in Ramstein. Tell me that makes sense...
Anyway, I'd like to get the authorities involved, but it seems as if this guy
has covered his tracks well. He certainly didn't appear to be American from his
emails, though. My guess was Eastern European... Who knows.

I can put you in touch with someone who can bring an Avant in for you
at a reaonable cost, however, if you decide that's what you want.
Even a used one... He'll handle all the paperwork, though you have to federalize it
youself with his direction. Just a thought...

Peace,
Fru-T

exact same information. http://www.msnbc.com/news/854552.asp?0cl=cR

Just as a side point.. If one of you guys in the US really do want an RS6 Avant and you are prepared to pay for the import I would be happy to deal with a dealer over here for you.

You would have to pay retail and then import the car at your own risk & cost, so it wouldn't be a cheap option.

I wouldn't want any money ( for doing it of course  , just be happy to deal with Audi Uk for you, but I also couldn't take any responsability for the car.

Just a long shot

You are ptobably not aware of this, but, non US dealers are not allowed to supply cars to customers with US delivery addresses. To convert a car from Euro to US spec will cost over $20,000 and will still be opposed by Audi of America.
Its why the car import business is highly specialised.

dave,
it looks like Nordschleife is right. it will cost an arm and a leg to
federalize the car, and on top of it audi north america will not
warranty it.
but i do appreciate the generous offer though:cheers:

i guess i'll just have to wait till summer:incar:
