Here is the article from Autocar Oct. 23 2002.
They didn't drive it yet and I think no one has.
However I must say I am quite disappointed about the 0 - 124 mph (200 km/h) time of 20,6 claimed.
I am also a little disappointed by the looks, but my final verdict will come after I drive it.
As you can see in the article Autocar says it's only 0.5 secs behind the M3.
Yes, that is true, but only if he drives the older M3 E36 3.2...
Hello Autocar? Anybody home?
The BMW M3 E46 (current version should you chose to buy one today) will do 0-200km/h in 18.1 secs. according to Track Challange (http://www.track-challenge.com/main_e.asp?useframe=singletest4_e.asp?Car=2)
In any case the new S4 will have a n/a 4.2 V8 with a 6-speed manual (first manual V8 for many markets).
The V8 should not be heavier than the previous V6 2.7T which is good.
Not sure if this new S4 has the succesful RS6-type DRC Dynamic Ride Control but it seems unlikely.
Like the ending though..."That's something that will never change: fast four-wheel-drive cars are unbeatable in the UK. And this will be one of the most desirable."
