I too would take the Alpina as first choice, the Merc is just too expensive. And there's the problem of getting that power and torque on the road...

-> I do agree that.
for at about half of the price nearly the same overall performance figures (and the merc is over 200 kg heavier) I'd go for the B7.

over all -> they're both great cars!!!

It is overpriced, but they got the performance figures wrong. 0-60 is just a touch over 4sec.

They tested the cars in the wet.
On dry pavement there would be no contest but Alpina has amazing traction!
For the price ,it's extremely impressive,too bad it's not available in the US.
