Just curious. If so, new springs?

I've read here, from a knowledgeable European contributor if I recall correctly, that lowering is not recommended because of the DRC suspension. Only saw one car with lowering and it was for sale on ebay. Maybe that tells us something, eh?:bye: :addict: :bye:

I'd lower her down if I could get my hands on the RS6+ suspension. I think it lowers the car a whole 10mm without having to lose DRC.
However, the RS6+ was only an avant, which in turn is a whole different car.

Yes, it would seem to be quite a big deal to do this. Not sure what you could do and still keep the DRC functional. Of course, you could get 19" wheels instead of the stock 18" and this would look like you lowered it some,.

I recall that RS6 had a factory option of lowering 10 mm (supersport suspension) 2ME. Was this available for RS6+ only??

On the Joe Hoppen website they show a 15mm lowering spring kit for the RS6. Not sure what else one needs to do this, but there appears to be a way. Might give them a call..

2ME/FC1 was no charge option "sport suspension Plus", only for +, lowering another 10 mm (what I was told by the stealer).

stock Plus suspesion on s... roads (aka Michigan or similar pothole kingdom) is a bone shaker of first class comparing to standard rs6 ..... that however is well compensated by performance ...

I lowered mine with a set of H&R springs...no problems at all with the DRC System.

The lowering portion can simply be done by having a different set of springs put in the car. The DRC system works via the shocks, thus not being affected, ... well sort of.

Keep in mind that by lowering the car with only a set of springs, you are making the shock system work harder. At least that was true in the B5 S4. Thus, you are shortening the life of the shock/DRC system.

I suppose 5-10mm reduction might not be too much.
Wish we really had an aftermarket suspension upgrade such as the old E500 Sportline suspension. Full kit with springs, shocks and anti-rollbars to go with it. Until then, we wait and wait and wait. We will need to keep getting updates (short and long term) from MiamiRS6.

Edited concerning shocks issue:
When changing the spring height and stiffness rate, the shock absorbers should also be changed to avoid moving the shocks absorber pistons out of their normal working range, thus ruining them.
Given that a 10mm drop is minimal, you might not see much of an issue short term, but surely long term, the life of the standard shocks will be shortened.
