Hi Everyone,

I am taking delivery of a Daytona Grey RS6 with Black Interior on Sunday. I believe it has the sport exhaust.

Some of you might know me and my past cars (6speedonline, and bmwm5.com) I used to be the owner of the BeastPower M5, and the 700HP Porsche Twin turbo that has been featured in European Car, Excellence and on the cover of TuningWerks Magazine. I also sold my Cayenne TT and modded that too. So I do like to mod cars.

For the RS6 I think I just want to stick to Software and Exhaust to start with. What do you guys recommend for Software and a LOUD exhaust.

Thanks everyone and I look forward to making new friends.

My recommendations would be to go with MTM.
You can get the software and a couple of choices of exhaust as well.

Check them out online at Hoppen Motorsport (http://www.hoppenmotorsport.com/)

Good luck. This will be my choice when I upgrade.

I also forgot, the first thing I want to do is get clear front lights. Does anyone know where I can get those. ( I hate the amber yellow)

thanks

I believe you can get them from Zev @ Avalon ....he is currently redoing his web site but give him a call.

http://www.avalonmotorsports.com/

Also, Look at OCT as far as a tuner..but MTM does have a VERY trick exhaust for the RS6. They also are probably the most well known and respected tuner for Audi. Roland Meyer (owner) worked for Audi directly under Walter Tresser ("father" of quattro). He had a large part in development of the 5cyl turbo motor and was heavily involved in Audi's motorsports.

they developed a TT bi-motor that hit 370kph at Nordo :revs:

Just a little info...good luck and keep us posted.

Cheers,

Based on my trouble free experience with APR software on two prior Audis over 41K miles, I'd suggest them for a look-see too. And some good things have been said about Revo, as well as OC.T. Be aware, tho, that there have been tranny failures possibly related to chip use. Search and ye shall find.

Good luck...and please keep us posted!:thumb:

Hi Fred and welcome.

If you remember I and PV996TT tried purchasing your Gumball 'ticket' last year.

So the RS6 is your way of being more moderate ;) Good luck! Have fun! :addict: :0:

EXHAUSTS

* RS6 Exhaust from Eisenmann (sound clip included)
http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3030&highlight=eisenmann

I tried an AMG E55 with Eisenmann and it was the loudest (unbearable) system I've ever heard.

* "I've got an Eisenmann Race exhaust system for sale. It was on my car for a couple weeks. The sound is unreal but just a bit too loud for my taste."
http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5062&highlight=eisenmann

* Sportec Exhaust
http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3242&highlight=eisenmann

* MTM Exhaust

MTM Quad-Exhaust - note the "flap".

SOFTWARE

I can recommend MTM and Sportec but there are many around.
Make sure you get a tip chip as well.

I would like to warn you folks about getting anything from Avalon Motorsports.
One of my front Euro housings arrived broken last August, and I'm still waiting for Zev to ship me the replacement.
**** STAY AWAY FROM AVALON MOTORSPORTS ****

He keeps giving me the run around, and I've warned I'd contact my credit card company against a fraudulent charge. I will call him again in the morning as last try. We talked last Monday and he told me that it would be on it's way, but nothing has arrived yet.
This is it. I'm calling my credit card and getting my money back. He has no idea how AmEx plays ball!
**** STAY AWAY FROM AVALON MOTORSPORTS ****

If you want Euro housings front or rear, just go to your dealership, and order them according to the part numbers shown above. I did not get any better dealer from these so called tuner shops that are really out there just to screw you anywhere they can. Second shop I've had bad news with.

Euro Front Housings:
4B3-941-003-F
4B3-941-004-F

Euro Rear Housing:
4B5-945-096-B
4B5-945-095-B

Good luck. Please don't do business with Avalon. I'm serious about this. Issue still pending since end of August 2004. I think I pretty much have run out of patience on this one. I was willing to wait given that it's Winter time, but this is enough. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

Thanks soo much as I was going to order them from Zev this week. You saved me, thanks. I will go to the dealer then and order the clear lights. For the rears, should I get smoked lights? I don't like that orange on the rear lights.

Also, what bulbs should I get to replace the yellow ones and also the fog lights to make them brighter?

sorry, just a newbie here ;-)

Nene,

Sorry to hear Zev has not resolved the problem for you. I have not had any issues with them but that is not say say there arn't any.

Good luck Fred :rs6kiss:

I have been a great customer of Avalon as well, and never had any issues previously. However, these items were quite costly, and I can't believe he's handled this issue in this manner.

For front blinkers, I would use Phillips Silvervision (http://www.supremepower.com/category/lighting/lighting-silvervision.html) . You can order them from Eric at SPP. Tell him Nelson with the RS6 sent you.
He can order the other parts too if you give him numbers or what you need. I went with the Euro rear housings, as it does not have the amber top. It's almost a clear like red, where you would see only the bulb. However, there is an amber container that helps the bulb blink amber. I had to use the dremel tool and remove it. Quite painful, but doable if you are so inclined. I will post pix of this once I get the IP Address of the website updated tonight.
I'm not too crazy about the smoked rear housings. But others have it and they like it.

Here's a thread of all the housings available! (http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3314&highlight=smoked)

For the fog lights, go with the H7 80W Super White (http://www.supremepowerparts.com/category/spr/h7.html) also from Supreme Power parts.

While you are at it, you should get a set of Osram Xenarc 5400K bulbs (http://www.supremepower.com/category/spr/spplight-stage3.html) also from Supreme Power Parts. They are more like the BMW blueish, which gives a bit better lighting without blinding folks. It's only $225USD for the pair. Love mine!

4300K bulbs on the left / 5400K bulbs on the right

Please keep in mind that the Euro front housing, the blinker does not have dual use. It's only a blinker. The US housing also allows the bulb (dual filament) to be used as a driving light. In the Euro front housings, the driving light is an additional bulb that is between the high beam and the regular driving lens. Just so you know. Some folks prefer this, others don't care, and yet others might not like it.

Do a search on "floor mats"

We tried a couple of group buys without success, but several members have them in the USA as well.
Not 100% sure where they got 'em.

Of all the prices I heard along time Dahlback had the best.

Try http://www.tjmmotorsport.com/ or www.audituning.com

They're not cheap... :noshake:
