im trying to get a 9 in the front with a ten in the rear. and my wheel maker says he is not sure if it will fit without rubbing. i would be useing a 255/30/19 tire. has anyone tried this or know of anybody who has.

That should be fine. Look at B&B's setup, they have a 20x9.5 on all four with 255/30/20 setup. Maybe you should contact them and ask to see if they have done any modifications to properly fit those wheels. I'd personally get 20's over 19's, but that's just my 2 cents :D

i got every thing confirmed today ill be running 255/35/19 in front on a 9 and a 285/30/19 on a 10 in the rear with 2" of lip in the front and 3" lip in rear
all i need now is for my hook up at stasis to come through for they're coilovers. i also have on order which will be in the week before christmas are the rs6 specific hotchkis sways.
i cant wait to start dialing it all in.

i appreciate the two cents though.

I've taken some measurements of the front wheel well for this same reason.
The width of the wheel well is 9.5" or about 241mm. That is from where the control arm is to the edge of your fender. This measure clears the control arm by about 5mm. If your tire is too wide, it might rub on the fender. So, a 9" wide wheel should be fine. The stock Euro rims are 9" wide.

What you have to be concerned with is the offset of your wheel.
You need at least 2" of spacing to clear the calipers by 4-5mm. This can be achieved with spacers, if your rims don't have that much space from the mounting face on the brakes to the inner portion of the spokes.

Good luck.

Will 20x11 stick out too much on the rear?

An 11" wide rear wheel will stick out a bit too much.
The width between the edge of the fender and the suspension is about 10 3/4". That makes an 11" wheel about 1/4" too wide.
Once you put the tire on, it might be 1/2" too wide or worst.

My recommendation would be to go with a 9 1/2" wide rim, and put 285/30 tires. This will keep the ratio about the same, if you go with 255/35 up front.
