9ff is looking forward to break the 400 kph barrier with this 840hp at Nardo on dec,12

It’s predecessor, the 9ff 9F-T6, 743hp has set already achieved a top speed of 372.1kph / 233mph at Nardo this year.

Those are some impressive figures!:MTM:
But I don't think a 97bhp bonus will be 'enough' to break 400..

One of the most interesting cars from Essen. Is it GT3 based?

They think the car will stick to the ground without any wing? Mad props if they can make that happen.

I see 9ff is becoming a major player pretty quickly

@steve:
I think the mods go further than just the power? or am I wrong?
I sure hope so for them they break it!

@inline six:
You'd be amazed what those people can do with their cars.
Mercedes Benz once made the W201 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, the one with the big wing remember...
No one believed the wing would work.
BMW's head engineer said: "If that rear wing works, we'll have to rebuild OUR wind tunnel."
And guess what... they did. :p :0:

Maybe this isn't the exact testing car?

The wing is missing at the rear of the car ! ! ! !

I was at Nardo and what happen during the first attempt of the VMax test is that the wing support on the driver side broke causing great instability at high speed. Jan, the pilot and 9ff CEO reached 334 km/h.

But I can tell you it is a very impressive piece of work. The floor (right term ??) is completely flat and made in Carbon. The engine is a 3,8 Twin Turbo engine. The body is a standard 996 Carrera one. And Jan is a very very nice person.

Cheers from Paris.

Best wishes to 9ff. They've received much possitive publicity in the British and European magazines. According to them the founder is a down to Earth nice guy to boot. Hope they can accomplish their BIG goal.

Dec. 12 is history.

Anybody know the outcome?

Can they, like Koenigsegg, blame it on the rain :vgrumpy: ? ;)

Hi Erik,

hmmm.... in what kind of further informations are you interested in?

Whether conditions were fine. It was a sunny day. Around 15-16°C

He started carefully to make himself comfortable with car and track. All went well and the instruments showed a 388 in his best attempt...

Bye,

Tuner Jan Fatthauer had prepared for this moment in his modified GT3 for a year. He hired a racetrack and organised doctors and firefighters, but they weren't needed - there was no incident. Quite the opposite. With his 840hp he set a world speed record for road registered cars by recording 388 kph, guaranteeing him a place in the Guiness Book of World Records. This record was previously held by a McLaren with a speed of 386 kph.

Fatthauser is now king of the tuners as a result. It took a lot of work and money - 537,000 Swiss Francs was invested in the car. Partners included the tire manufacturer Continental, and the supplier Raid.

To be certain of recording the speed at the crucial moment, there were 3 GPS devices in the car, one overseen by a lawyer.

Fatthauser was delighted at the end, saying: "The best thing about the record is that my son Jannes told me on the phone that I was a superhero to him, his little brother and their mum."
