View Full Version : Oil Grades, What's the Score?

Hey,

For those of us in the know, how do engine lubrication oils differentiate from each other?

Say for instance you have an oil that's graded as '10w-40', what does each part of that grade mean, so the '10', the 'w' and the '40' all mean something, but what?

Is it the oil weights?

TIA
