I don't know how commonly it is deployed, but if you ever get "POPed" by this fundamentally flawed POP radar technology, here may be your defense:

(I have no affiliation with these companies, radar just p@$$es me off.)

how many speeding tickets did mike valentine get that he eventually got pissed and built his own detector which formed into a business? hehe.
i dont know. dont even know if it all happend this way.. but that would be a cool way to get back at all the tickets he recieved.

Valentine used to work with Escort, he came up with a new idea on the method of detecting that would allow the new detector to use a different internal frequency which limited the ability for Radar Detector Detectors to see the radar detector, his partners said no, so Valentine formed his own company.

Thus the Valentine one is not detected simply because the methods used by radar detector detectors does not allow the valentine one to be seen !!!!!

I have had a V1 for about 5 years, love it!

One bad issue is that (any laser detector) it picks up a laser like signal from LED brake lights !!..... Also if you turn on the K mu band (off by default) it picks up your Sat Radio box......pain..

GoFast,

Thanks for the info. That might just come in handy:)

Nothing is immune to the latest generation of radar detector detectors, Spectre. The Valentine 1 and several other, high-end detectors are immune to VG-2, the previous generation of detector detectors.

I don't believe in the radar detectors, but what about laserjammers? I heard that de could block the beam so the laser would show error instead of 130+ ;D - And it should be legal in Sweden, seen it on a Diablo which was tested to 350 km/h on public road!!! :S

But does It really work??

Yeah, why not? They work.

Because the ones I know who had a detector, it only worked very short before they would pass the radar and you would not ha a chance for braking in time, if you were driving with high speed. But that is some years ago, don't know if it has improved much since, proberly. But the police in Denmark isn't using the radar anymore, but only the laser so you ha no need for a detector... :(

New detectors (V1 especially) give you more warning. It completely depends though on the road's lay out and elevation changes. On a wide open road with no hills (read Kansas) with no obsticles the V1 starts to warn you with more than a mile to go! On roads with severe elevation changes and very tight and constant turns you may only get a couple hundred of feet (especially with hills and mountains in the way) as I found out:D

Now if Denmark doesn't use radar then this info for you is moot.

That's sad....perhaps they can add a function to the ECU in your car to automatically fine you when you speed...

The US will be doing that soon...

GM has cars with black boxes they can read to determine the speed before collision, braking force, angle of steering wheel, etc......you know that will be used to VOID insurance etc........Big Brother is watching us all...

Speed on....

By the way Laser Jammers are still not great.

There has been some projects testing some systems, that limit the speed after the speedlimit in test areals... :S

Anyhow I thought that the jammer work?!!

But what do you the do to, protect you against getting fines??

guys, be aware there is new way to enforce the speed limit on east coast .......

A few months ago someone mentioned a laser jammer brand to me and swore by it. I did a search and found a lot off info on Laser Jammers, comparisons, effectiveness etc....

The Lidac one appears to work well since it is an active jammer, as opposed to the many passive 'jammers' out there, which according to the reviewers are useless. It's very interesting reading, if I can find the link, I'll post it...

I have a LRC100 didn't have a chance to test it but a lot of people in Holland are satisfied. They can't see if you have one because the officer gets a E14 on his screen and not a ' jammed ' report.

Site www.target-automotive.nl

For the other radars I have the new Stinger DSI computer (www.stinger.nl),works fine.

Great site.Unfortunately I don't have a RS but I like to read you're story's;)
