Toyota is cooking up its own limited-production supercar, one that will either be the next Supra (with a possible TXS badge) or a high-end sports car for Lexus. The car caught testing is believed to be an early engineering mule for a 500-hp, 370-lb-ft V10-powered car. Weighing less than 3000 pounds, the sports car is expected to readily run to 190 mph.
Sources say Toyota is eyeing a 2005 Tokyo Motor Show introduction, with an on-sale date in late 2006 or early 2007. Pricing will be in excess of $100,000 for one of an estimated 12,000 that Toyota plans to produce
