It's a long post, but Audi seems to be quite succesful...

-----------------

Audi win "Petit Le Mans” and ALMS title

ALMS: For a fifth consecutive time, an Audi R8 has won the "Petit Le Mans” event at
Road Atlanta (USA), one of the highlights of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). On
the demanding track near Atlanta, JJ Lehto/Marco Werner and Johnny Herbert/Pierre
Kaffer secured a 1-2 victory for Team ADT Champion Racing, and in doing so clinched
the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ titles early in the LMP1 category. JJ Lehto and Marco
Werner had already wrapped up the Drivers’ title. Audi have won the Manufacturers’,
Teams’ and Drivers’ titles in the top class of the ALMS for a fifth consecutive
time. Following an exciting opening stage to the race, Lehto and Werner took the
lead at Road Atlanta at the beginning of the second hour and kept it until the
finish. The sister car lost a total of three laps due to a collision with a GT car
and an excursion into the gravel.

Audi driver Galati retains championship lead

SPEED GT: Audi driver Michael Galati defended his lead in the overall classification
of the North American SPEED GT World Challenge after a hard earned 12th place at
Road Atlanta (USA). However, his lead was reduced to four points prior to the
series’ finale at Laguna Seca on 17 October. Following the successes in the
preceding races, the series organisers implemented various restrictions on the Audi
RS 6 Competition. As a consequence, at Road Atlanta the RS 6 had less power in
race-spec than the road car.

Big DTM finale at Hockenheim

DTM: The organisers of the final DTM round at Hockenheim next weekend expect a
record crowd of over 100,000 spectators. More than 60,000 tickets have been sold in
advance. Audi driver Mattias Ekström has already clinched the Drivers’ title, and
Audi Sport Team Abt the Teams’ classification. The Manufacturers’ championship has
yet to be decided. Audi has a nine-point lead over Mercedes-Benz coming in to the
finale.

News from the Audi brand group

SEAT victorious also at BTCC finale

BTCC: SEAT scored another race win with the Toledo Cupra at the finale of the
British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Donington. SEAT celebrated at least one
victory in each event during the second half of the season. At Donington, Jason
Plato won the first of three heats from pole position despite dropping to fourth
position at the start. By finishing sixth in the second heat and second in the third
round, the Briton moved up to third in the final standings. The SEAT driver won
seven races in the 2004 season, more than every other driver.

Frank Biela shines in BTCC Masters

BTCC: Anthony Reid won the BTCC Masters at Donington, an invitation race featuring
16 former champions and stars of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at the
wheel of identical SEAT Leon cars. Frank Biela, who won the BTCC title in 1996,
shined with a strong race performance. Start positions where drawn by lot and the
Audi works driver was elected to start from 11th position on the grid. In the race,
Biela fought his way up to third position before letting Gabriele Tarquini past on
the last lap thereby narrowly missing the podium as eventual fourth placed driver.

Oil on the track cost Lamborghini third place

ALMS: The Krohn-Barbour Racing Team dreamt of a GTS podium finish at the "Petit Le
Mans” event for five hours. Peter Kox, David Brabham and Nic Jonsson were running in
a solid third position in their Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT when Kox hit oil on the
track and slid into a gravel bed. Due to a flat battery Kox could not restart the
engine and had to retire. The second R-GT of the American team finished the race in
fifth place of the GTS class.

Sebastian Stahl back in the lead

Supercopa: Sebastian Stahl regained the lead in the German SEAT Leon Supercopa after
a text book victory on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. "Star of tomorrow” Peter
Terting, who is supported by Audi, retired with a technical problem dropping to
third position in the overall standings.
