Audi "advocate" suggests 245/45/18's. Tire Rack suggests 225/45/18's. TIA for your comments/experience:snow:

If you order a set of Wintertires straight with the car you will get
225/45 R18 95V XL Dunlop SP WinterSport M3 mounted on a 7.5x18" Wheel. This is the legal Wheel/Tire combination shown in the cars papers.

Audi "advocate" should open the manual, :idea: the correct winter size is as Quisha wrote: 225/45 R18

I'm looking for 255/40/18 Winter M3 if I can find it .....

You can get the following Tires matching 255/40 18:

Dunlop SP WINTER SPORT M3 255/40 R18 95V
Pirelli W 240 Snowsport 255/40 R18 95V
Continental WinterContact TS 790 V 255/40 R18 99V XL

I would go for the Continental because of the Extra Load Ability.
