I have to admit that when it comes to lights and wheels, I'm probably the pickiest person you will see. Even if I have something that I'm enjoying quite a bit, I'm always looking for something else. However, in the end, I always end up back where I started, and happier that way. Just a lesson I've learnt from my other cars and mods.
Okay, so this week I started thinking that what I really want is a 1-piece wheel again. I have my stock rims back on for the Winter, however not with the Winter tires installed yet. And I have to admit that I really like the 9-spoke stock rims a lot. I wish I could get them in the forged manufacturing process. At least they would be strong and lightweight.
Well, so I want 1-piece rims quite a lot, and come to the conclusion that concave (just like the stock rims) is the way to go for a car such as the RS6. It just gives that more aggressive look. If the rim is flat, it's just not quite the same in my opinion.
I've been looking at the Euro 19" stock rims. I wish I could get my hands on a 20" set for real. However, the 20" 9-spokes I saw earlier on were pretty awesome for a Summer set. The only negative point is the weight on those darn things.
So I'm stuck with bigger and lighter than stock, and those are the most antagonistic thought processes if I ever heard one.
And now to the point. I found a set of wheels that you can get for 23lbs and they come in 18x8.5 or 18x9.5. Offsets are 30 or 38, which is great.
Problems:
1. Bolt pattern is only 5-114;
2. Too many bolt holes as seen in pix below.
Here is the image of my latest craze drawn to wheel. I think the blue lettering on the rim can be removed, but alas, they will not fit the RS6. I need to call them up and find out for sure though.
These are the Work Emotion CR.
