This is copied from the english ring forum what i understand!
I have not checked it my self just copied from a swedish forum where i am!

Finally Horst went out... I got a video of him whizzing by us on the straight at close to 300kmh, sounded like a sonic boom! Anja Wasstertheurer had followed him in a MTM Audi RS6 biturbo for some reason (obviously not a camera car!) and she came by half a minute later. Horst parked the car and said, "7:37" Well that's not good enough, so he went out again, almost running into Anja's Audi on the way out!

Second lap, he came in and gave the word: "7:32.48!" Well that was good enough for the record! There was about a litre of sweat in the GT from Horst and he still had to go put the Aston through its paces!

Here's my full photo gallery of the day:

7 minutes 11 seconds is the Formula 1 lap time record, set up by Niki Lauda in 75 (or 76). We are getting closer and closer.

Cheers,
Frederic

Fred its already been passed:

Stefan Bellof (D) Porsche 956
1983-05-28, 1000km Rennen 20.832 km 202.073 km/ h
6min 11 sec

There is a very long way to go before anybody equals Bellof's record, and there is a reliable report that he went even faster in unofficial practice earlier in the week.

Take the ACO restrictors off the R8 or Speed 8, reprogram the ECU and perhaps Tom or Frank could beat the time.

1. Bellof/Bell 6.11

2. Mass/Ickx 6.16 (Mass did the time)

3. Lill-Lövis/Wollek 6.31

4. Rosberg/Lammers 6.39

What i know there is no full lap video of Bellofs 6.11.

But there is an video of Derek Bells 6.41.

The name is In Car 956

You got it!! But what about the quattro sport, which Tom drove at the presentation of the S4? It has +700 hk... it might do the trick?? :wo:

The R8 and Speed 8 have suspension that is superior to almost all other cars on bumpy tracks. This is really important at the Ring.

The new 997 with active suspension is 5 sec faster around Nurburgring when button is in sportyest setup compeard if not in sportyest setup.

If just having to hard suspension on nurburgring you can acually fly of track.

Thanks to track being so challanging for cars, suspension espesally. Everybody is testing ther. But i guess no one have missed that fact.
