Ok I'm sure most of you read two forums but in case there is an oil genius who does not, can you tell me whether this, syphoned out of the dipstick, is what oil is supposed to look like *immediately* (5 miles) after 5k oil change?

I can hold the bottle to sunlight and it is black, except at the neck, where it is dark brown.. (online, it says that for non diesel cars you can expect your golden oil to turn black in ~300 miles).

suppose I suspect the oil change has not been done, despite the record saying so, how would i prove it?

Mine was darker after the 5k oil change than it was when new.. but remember, they are not able to drain all the oil from the lines and coolers, so some dirty oil is left. The only way to be sure is to have them change it again now ( you have to pay of course) and check it before you drive off after picking it up, making sure to show your service manager. Then drive 300 miles and look again. Its only oil but you want to be sure..

I can't give you any good suggestions for this particular oil change other than to see what the oil looks like on your dipstick. The coating on the dipstick is quite thin but.....you can definately tell the difference before and immediately after an oil change. The new oil will look significantly cleaner on the dipstick than it does before the oil change. :mech:

Sorry but in my opinion your was not changed. Yes it is true you cannot get all the oil out....but there is maybe a quart or quart and a half left in a 10 quart car. There is no way it should be that dark.

Just a side note: AoA will only pay a .5 hour time to the dealers for changing the oil under the inclusive service. It takes much longer then that....to the point that if the dealer does not have a VERY good oil change guy they could only break even on the RS6 oil change. So there is motive for them to say it is changed but not to do it.

I second Bauer - this is not new oil. Oil on my Avant was clean - and I mean clean - after 4600 miles. Take it up with the dealer.

I did not change oil yet - the proper drain is impossible due to drain plug higher that coolers?
