The Audi 100, Audi V8 (1989), Audi A6 (C5) and finally the new Audi A6 (C6).

The grill developed through time.

Big air intake = big engine :)

I like the new A6, it's looks like a solid product, not too keen on the styling, though, a little too conservative for my tastes but the RS6 would most definitely change that.

I'm interested in how it drives....Might book a test drive, actually.

What'd be cool would be Audi setting the drivetrain up on the next RS6, to send 85% power to the rear and 15% to the front in 'normal' driving conditions and have a manual available, since BMW don't have any plans for one in the E60 M5. That'll change the tables around abit.

Hmmmm. Unfortunately I am old enough to have owned the Audi 100 LS twice in the 1970s, and that isn't it. Maybe it was called the 100 without the LS, as you suggest, but memory tells me it had another name -- maybe the Fox.

Of course, memory could be wrong. All I know is I owned two that were called 100 LS and they were top of the line Audis at the time -- with softer lines on the front fenders, different grille & headlights than shown in the photo here.

JAXRS6, could be the names that change while passing over the Atlantic. The Audi 5000 etc. were never available in Europe. Or yes yhey were, but under another name. I guess Audi 100/200.

Talking about the Audi 200 I can still remember when daddy bought one around 1987. It was front wheel drive only, most were quattros, and had (I think) 205 or 225 mm wide wheels.
At that time it was one of the fastest cars around. :revs:
