Hi:

Just wondering what you guys thinks.

I can get a set of the 19" 5 spoke wheels that come stock on the Euro RS6 for US $ 3,000 (incl shipping to USA/Canada). Wheels are coming from Europe.

Is this a good price? That's basically US$750/wheel.

19" BBS LM wheels sell for $1,100 (incl shipping) from Tirerack.

Comments appreciated. Pics of wheels shown.

Wheels look great - but hope your roads in Vancouver are better than ours (New York). Must be a great drive up to Whistler in the RS6 - hwy 99 sea to sky - enjoy:addict:

I'm also interested in the 19in RS6 wheels. Looking for the proper specs for the tires. Thanks.

Decided to go with 19x8.5 ET32 OZ Superleggera III (forged) - lightweight at only 23lbs. Sold my Sportecs on ebay - they were heavy for 18s (28.5lbs).

Euro 19" wheels are not light either. If you want to go for them, contact Gert at www.carnewal.com He is my supplier for Porsche parts but can get parts for Audi as well.

The price sounds right...........but it still is too high for what you get. From what I understand those wheels are very heavy.

Maybe we can do a pool purchase.....who else wants in? :addict:

That's why I went with OZ Superleggera III. Pricing is similar.

Sorry - they are actually 25lbs - still light for 19s

errr....not sure what these mean but here's a memo I recieved from the audi dealership as to the specs on the 19" rims from Audi for the RS6. Maybe Nord can shed some light on the different aspects of the memo.

J X 19 H2 ET35

5/112 (?)

4B3601025Q1H7

GBP £475.05+VAT (@17.5%) for one.

Not sure of weights, although I was advised to ask the shipping company for the dealership about them, I never got round to that.

Achtuning.com here in the States is advertising set of 19" RS6 replicas that match the specs from Audi:

"19x9 5x112 ET35 rs6rep_19x9 $1250"

Any disadvantages/issues with using replicas vs. the real thing?

Replicas are almost sure to be heavier than the OEM wheels. I suspect they may be over 35lbs each.

However, US $1250 is also ALOT cheaper than US $2800 (OEM 19" wheels). With the $1550 saved, you can offset the loss in perfromance with mods such as ECU tuning.

If cost is not an object, go with OEM. OEM is overpriced in my opinion.

With replicas, you will have the look but performance will suffer.

What is the weight of the OEMs? I'll check with Achtuning on the replicas.

Any 19" tire recommendations?

Well, the OEM 18s weigh about 27 lbs. The OEM 19s will probably weight 10% more - about 30lbs. In Germany, acceleration is less important than mid-range/top end autobahn performance so the extra weight of 19s is not too big of an issue.

Please note that I am guessing about the weight of the OEM 19s. Hopefully, some of the Euro members might be able to shed some light.

Rule of thumb with wheels: lighter is almost always better.

My experience with my 996TT. I put some bling bling HRE wheels on the car - they weigh about 28 lbs as opposed to the stock wheels (25lbs). The decrease in perferomance was noticeable.

When I sold the HREs and replaced with BBS RS-GT (21lbs), the performance was significantly better. It felt like the car had an extra 30hp. Here's a pic of the BBS

I don't have any experience with replica wheels. However, I do have experience with OEM wheels. They were unbelievably expensive and heavy usually. On the other hand, they have never cracked nor bent on me. I do use Michelin tires usually, and that could be part of the reason too.

For the price, the replicas do seem like a good choice. But I'd recommend something different, simply because for OEM you already have the 18" 9-spoke rims anyway.
Go with something totally different, and just as tasteful, if not more so. It would be great to have the few RS6s that made it US bound and on this forum to show a bunch of different rims. There are certainly enough wheels out there.
The replicas or OEM will be sure to fit over the brakes without the need of spacers, but usually you can find out if other rims will work as well.

Just don't go for 5-spoke spinners!!! (http://www.truckxpressions.com/spinners/5spoke.htm)

Nice rim brands:
DPE (http://www.wholesalehyperformance.com/wheels/dp-engineering/dpe.html)
Maya (http://www.superbuytires.com/wheels/brand/MAYA/)
HRE (http://www.hrewheels.com/Wheels/)

Are you looking for easy to keep clean (least amount of spokes) or hard to keep clean (lots of spokes) kind of rims?
Are you looking for OEM look, but a different set of Audi wheels?
The OEM look is nice, but for the money, I think you can do something shall I say more personalized? Also, with OEM, everyone has it too, thus you might be bored of them sooner.

Leaning heavily towards the RS6 19x9 ET35s (weight 31 lbs each) available at Hartmann.com with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 255/35/R19 96Ys installed.

Hey the F5 & F7 look pretty tight too. Maybe I wasn't paying attention but I didn't know the 19 OEM came in 8 & 9" width.

I assume the OEM Euro RS6 is a 19x9.....correct?
