Better handling, quattro, Cosworth motor (Cosworth=F1 CART), more of an enthusiasts car, less likely to counted as a snob, etc. etc.......:addict: :addict: :addict: :addict: :addict: :addict: :addict:

Be careful not to confuse Cosworth Racing with Cosworth Technology.

VAG bought Cosworth Technology. These are the people you go to when you want some clever casting done, for example. Nobody is sure if VAG really knows what to do with the company. Doing some of the casting and engine pre-assembly for the RS4 and RS6 have been typical of the chores given.

How much of this technology spills over into the rest of the group is restricted by an understandable suspicion of English Engineering by the German owners.

Why did VAG buy Cosworth Tech, good question. Did they understand what they were getting, a reasonable person would think that unlikely. Is all this far fetched, not at all, remember, they thought they had bought Rolls Royce as well as Bentley.

So the race engines come from Cosworth Racing - a very different sort of company.

My mistake. Found more information on Cosworth TEch, whose illustrious history of projects are listed in their company history section:
