Cool.

Not only 79 Cosworths but 79 ESCORT Cosworths:0:

So you guys appreciate the Ford RS Cosworths as well as the later "Cosworths"(the RS6 that is...)???

I think the Cosworths are really cool cars. Sort of the first supercar for the family:thumb:

That engine bay is quite a sight. :D

What's the power ratings of the Sierra Cossie?

Shame Ford never made a Focus Cossie, would of been cool. Speaking of which anyone had any experience with the Focus RS?

From the factory the early versions(2wd 3-door and 2wd 4 door) had 204BHP and 280NM.

The later 4wd editions (4 door Sierra and Escort) had 220BHP/227BHP.

They are easily tuned though:

A chip and 4 new(larger) injectors gets around the 330BHP mark.
A new turbo, injectors etc. and you have 400BHP

There is now comming some rather wild versions with over 600BHP on street fuel:eek:

Incredible, thanks for the information Boss330.

Looks to me that the engine is just one big Turbo & Airfilter...

There is a sierra cosworth in my country which is 600 hp. It has garrett turbo and its 0-60 is 3.7 secs. It beats 700 hp m3's and m5 easily. Also most of the engines' parts are handmade.

djinn:

Do you have some pics or specifications on this Sierra Cosworth?

In the UK there was a rather famous Escort Cosworth(Reyland Cosworth) that took part in this years Gumball and had a rather big accident:cry:

This Escort is in the process of being rebuilt, but as far as I can remember it did 0-60 in 2,99s and had a top speed of 192MPH. All this measured on a track with professional equipment.:0:

of all the threads in all the forums in all the world...

this one is probably the most appropriate for pictures of my babies. two "RS" cars, two separate companies...

understood. it was posted right after my post making no reference to anything so i naturally assumed it was in reference to the previous post.

but yes, that picture is also real. it's been floating around the cosworth channels for quite some time.

I happen to know that a person in Västerås (Sweden) has over 700+hp in his cosworth! Also rumord that a cossie in norway has over 1200 hp... I am sorry to say that mine only has around 500 hp.... That engine is F#cking perfect for tuning as is the Audi 5 cyl....
