Far from beautiful, but one of the most iconic car designs comes from the same manufacturer of the Xj220, take a guess?

Jaguar XKE

My favorite thus far is the Miura SV. Was lucky enough to witness a stunning example while at Sant'Agata.

The Miura is stunning in design, the first mid engined road car, I believe (?).

Karman your spot on, it's the Jaguar XKE or E-Type, one of the most iconic car designs ever according to many motoring journalists, even made it to number one of Jeremy Clarksons Top 100 cars of the 1900s. I have to agree with them after seeing one in person, quite recently. :0:

Miura has always been my favourite, it is sooo sexy and curvy. I also loved how the car came in crazy colours like lime green, but I want one in orange. Though I hear they can be pretty hairy when driving on/near the limit due to the midmounted engine. Anyone can confirm this, perhaps have stories/experiences driving a Miura?

Reading the trip to Lamborghini story, good work krm! I've read a story where Lamborghini used to have a 'supercar junkyard' where all the old test cars, prototypes etc used sit there and rust away...

But I think it has been cleaned up now.

Well, road-going versions of the Porsche 550 Spyder and Ford GT40 were produced before the Miura was released.

Hehe, I was expecting the E-Type to turn up as number 1, just by watching the title of the movie. :)

I guess most people who know Jeremy's taste in cars would know that.

the 2CV is a Citroën not a Renault ;)
but still ugly, that's why it's called the Ugly Duckling here in Europe :)

Karman,

I got a story about this car, in the picture.

I got a friend who's many years my elder and he had one of these back in the early 90s, I didn't think much of it untill he took me out for a spin in it, and bejesus!!!! It was FAST!

Later on I needed to have a peak under the bonnet to see what was under there, and there it was, a Maserati engine, I can't remember the specifications or anything, but I recall seeing Maserati being printed on the intake manifold. Not the most attractive car but god damn was it unbelievable.

Never underestimate the ugly ducklings out there.

For those of you who are interested abit more about the ugly duckling, Karman posted then here's a little more information about that particular car I mentioned in an earlier post, I guess it's far rarer than I ever thought, at least in the UK, let alone RHD.
