This is the RS6 I tested in Essen 2002. It had the sports suspension.

You can also see 1/5 of the poor Audi guy who had to accompany me :)

I don't know, never tried it without :)

The ride was firm but still comfortable, just they way I want it.
Also I only tried it on autobahn and some city travel, but I would guess the sports suspension (and new Movits...) will come to its right at the track. :race:

The Sports Suspension on the RS6 at Essen is just one of a number of options quattro GmbH is evaluating presently. Audi has a number of serious suspension problems to resolve right now. The development engineers realise that they have got caught in a "corner" whereby the cars are to harsh at low speed and too soft at high speed.
Given the potential resource Audi and quattro GmbH can throw at this problem, most of us are waiting to see what they can come up with before spending any serious money on the RS6 suspension.
My personal impression is that the car is very uncomfortable when driven enthusiastically through twisty country roads, far to much 'float' for comfort. Its much better on a track however, where there are seldom more than 2 related corners.
I understand that the series brake system is up for review as well. Audi has really backed themselves into a nasty corner with the series rotors, and now we are seeing them on other production cars. I guess the development drivers are "too good" and pride themselves on NOT destroying brakes!
