I think if you use the stock chip it won't make a difference.
However I know that APR does have a very high Octane rating fuel mapping, and you might be able to get some extra ponies out of the engine.
AWE also has the XR chip, for the B5 S4 that takes advantage of this sort of thing. Not sure about the RS6 though.
