why did they choke the V10 to the 420? and why does the S4 have a bigger engine than the RS6.

I talked to my sales rep today- who just got back from Miami Beach where AoA had their sales/president club for their top sales guys. The new AoA President was there, and they had a 1 1/2 days worth of traning/meetings. All the reports of the new A6 in FL were due to them being trained on them during the week.

The HP numbers match up- though there are a couple of cars that are missing from the line up"

- LeMans: detuned V10 so it doesn't compete with the Lambo Gallardo. Im guessing the same V10 as the Pikes Peak, RS4 and S6. Mainly reason was to keep the price down.

- Pikes Peak: with V8@340hp and a V10@410hp, possibly the V10 TDI

- RS4 with 410-430hp, with the obvious choice being a turbo charged 4.2/v8. Priced in the high US$60s and only in sedan. 6sp/Tip.

For the C6 RS6 to have an impact, I'm guessing they're going to need to put the V10 so it competes with the M5. And if I was Audi- I'd throw in twin turbo chargers and get it in the 560hp range.

Other cars coming down:
- A3/5 door with the 3.X and an FSI with thoughts about having a S3.

Also- with the recent gas prices, he was surprised at the amount of requests/feedback that was given by his colleagues around bringing in the diesel version of some of the A6/A4.

The message was clear- Audi is aware that with the mistakes of the Bangle at BMW with the 7 and the 5 series, and with the 'blandness' of the MB brand- they have a short window of opportunity to become the leader in the North American sports luxury market.

Only time will tell, but it will be a great 4-6 years to see what Audi brings to this side of the pond.

Cheers-
Ernesto

Yes, they are from AutoBild. Forgott, that the RS6 will have BiTurbo of course...

@RS6 OOOO the S4 has the same engine but without turbo ( well of course not exactly the same, they had to do some modifications so the engine fits in the A4).

i meant to say the new S6 with V10. As long as the RS6 has more power i'll stick with that.

I'm not so sure about if the rs6's engine will have any turbos because as you know gallardo doesn't have any turbos ;)
