Anybody here have the Sportec chip for the RS6? Gunther from Sportec is visiting Colorado for the week (arriving tommorrow) for hands on tuning. There are 22 cars waiting for him of various types. With so many different tuners out there, I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Cheers,
James

i was talking with sportec here in colorado and EVO motorsports in Arizona and i think i'm going with EVO. they get the most power out of the cars. the 911 TT challenge the put down the most power and i'm not sure how much they did in the 1.8t but i know it was up there. the EVO chip is from GIAC and puts 42 hp and 78 ft/lbs to the wheels. i haven't seen anyone else put those numbers down with just a chip. they also offer a chip for the Tip tranny which is needed for the more power. the Sportec chip was somewhere around 3800 and the EVO is only charging 2600 for the ECU and the tip chip.

42HP? thats it? there are numerous tuners who can break the 500hp mark with just a chip.

Is this enough to justify?

Note that the Sportec is on 20" which will make the car slower.

Here are what the Gallery gives you in terms of pics: http://www.rs6.com/gallery/showgallery.php?si=sportec

though I can't read German, it appears the Sportec car is faster in every catagory other than slalom and that must be due to the big 20's. Am I correct?
