How not to clean your digital camera

My wife decided to act as a catalyst in us getting a new digital camera - by putting ours through the laundry. *%$#!*. And just out of warranty.

Do you think the warranty really would have changed anything?
I don't think it's 'insured' against washing machines...

In any case, don't go to hard on her since that will only result in a comment like "your turn next at the washing machine..."
