This is my first post - so go easy on this RS6 newbie!

I have been lurking around a while and reading about different ways to upgrade my RS6. Seems like the combination of parts that everyone talks about is:

Computer re-programming
Millteck mid pipe upgrade
Millteck exhaust upgrade
Diverter valve upgrade

What are you guys paying for these parts? I have looked around on a few websites and dont see any prices. It makes me nervous when I dont see any pricing.

Thanks for helping this newbie out!

Turboguy,

Welcome to the board! Speedtechnik, one of the board's sponsors, I believe charges less than $7,000 to install the Oct chip, Milltek exhaust and diverter valves.

Their dyno shows it producing about 540 hp!!!

I had a ride in their beast about a month ago - absolutely awesome. :MTM:

Welcome to RS6.com,

The cheapest way is to go for an ECU re-programming only.
That will give you about 500 hp.
In Europe such an upgrade will set you back around 4.200 USD.
If you like to further from there it shouldn't be a problem, but I'm not sure on prices.

its not 7000 grand for that its more like 4800
2800 for chip
2000 for exhaust
250 for pair of diverter valves

total 4800+intallation

maybe a grand the most 5800 total maybe less
works very well

but this is not 540HP, is it?

To get 540HP one needs to change the downpipes and cats as well .... what adds up few tousands$.

yes this package only is 530hp thats just 10 off the downpipes are around 3 grand and they add alot more than 10 hp the total should at least be 550+hp and should improve tremendous perfoprmance and with the shifting chip it will probably get u into 11s at the 1/4 mile :race:

I agree, it seems ridiculous. However, APR and MTM run about the same. The rationale is that 1) developing a chip that works on the high tech & complex RS6 was very labor intensive, and 2) the RS6 market is so limited -- with only about 1200 cars in the US total.

That's their rationale, not mine. I'm still stock.

You can try getting in touch with Eurocodetuning.com They have a flash reprogramming available for 899 bucks. They also offer a trial 5 hour limited option. It generates 520hp. Good luck! :addict: :addict: :addict: :addict: :addict:

Were I to chip my Beast, I would select a major chip developer. O.CT followed by MTM top my list. They seem to know what they're doing and have taken great care in developing and testing the chip. I'd rather pay more than get something that could lead to all sorts of problems. Why worry about a couple of grand when you've spent $90,000 on the car to begin with??? It seems penny wise ...

Just my .02.
