Hi
i had my serpentine belt changed in April 2015 at 57,700 miles. The car now has 73,700 miles and the belt is all “cracked up to hell” according to my tech. Isn’t it supposed to last longer? Car is always garaged and I only put about 5k a year. Is this expected?
Thanks

Could have been an old belt that was sitting on the shelf for years.

Hmmm possible ... this is definitely not normal right? I thought at least 40k miles. They say it was dry rotted and cracked... car is driven only 5000 miles a year.

every 35000 miles is the factory spec.

of course I have done mine every time I had money to burn.

Yea, you got a bad belt. Just changed my timing belt and serpentine, they both looked brand new after 6 years and 20k...
