I replaced my headlight switch a few years ago and now my A/C control and door inset backlights lights are not working. I moved the dimmer knob back and forth on the headlight control and those backlights came on briefly (thought it might be a fuse, but clearly it's the switch) The backlights on the radio are fine which I found odd. Must be a different circuit.

So has anyone opened up their headlight switch to clean the rheostat contacts? Or just buy another switch?

I put the old one back in and same issue, odd how turning the dimmer knob made it come on briefly. Must be a loose wire somewhere beyond the control plug.

Started car today, turned on head lights and the backlights on the A/C control came on for a few seconds. It must be some loose/dirty connector, much like my Air Bag which I took out, cleaned the contacts, put back and has been fine for 5 or six years. But how do I find the correct contact? Going to try cleaning the contact on the headlight switch.
