Hi all...havent posted in a while because for the most part, Thing 1 and Thing 2 have been behaving. In Seattle and on to other adventures. Thing 2 just developed a power loss when making power. Just shuts off 😕. Sometimes goes to limp mode. Engine codes are 18393,18308,17963,16502,17983,17953. None seem to be a direct correlation. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

17963 is a direct correlation (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17963/P1555/005461).
2 last ones are also very weird (throttle control malfunction?).

Ur hitting boost cut. This will tell why

Reset ecu by battery cable

restart

Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to log...cleared all codes, started over, ran it till it went to limp mode.........these are the only codes 17983 engine mount short to +, 18393 Coolant control module, 17953 Throttle valve controller malfunction.

The 17953 code seems to be the most logical. Vag com says this can be caused by restricted airflow. Took the filters out and they were filthy. Thought I had found the problem. Unfortunately a quick trip around the block without the filter found I still have the problem although it makes ALOT more power before it shuts off. Weird.

As an aside, when I turn right from a stop and accelerate, it won't even get to 2000 rpm before it dies. When I turn left, it will run to 3500-4000 before it quits.

So confused...thanks for the help. Wish I could log it Dave.

Check N75 lines (both: reference from the driver's side turbo, and control - going from N75 to actuator cans). If they have any leaks (cracks, etc) - it will cause boost overshoot. The short "dump" line can be ignored.
N75 is a brown colored 3-nipple boost control solenoid mounted on the rear of your engine below the airbox.

Thanks, Ill look at those when I get back to Minnesota. Ordered a cable and Vag 409.1 hopefully this will allow me to look at more parameters than VCDS lite? Maybe do a throttle adaptation? Gotta love Amazon....sitting in Fargo, Vag 4091. and cable delivered today to Seattle. Pick it up and try it on the car in Minnesota Monday....hopefully it will provide some enlightenment.

Owning a 14yr old RS6 can be pure bliss or Hotel California

not it having a full blown vag-com is like running across a frozen pond holding knives in your hands

i have a backup vag for my main vag.

I agree with the n75 lines but seeing the log will help a great deal

Lol....I'm just trying to keep both of them on life support for as long as possible...ever since giving up the 3 car garage for one parking space in Seattle. I love this car and so does my wife, but she drove a P100D and went...yea.....and then I watch one absolutely destroy me...I know what is coming, just don't want to admit it yet.:rs6kiss:

Clear DTCs before starting the log. And try enabling "turbo" mode for the VCDS, otherwise sample rate is too low to be meaningful.
Was this WOT?

I will enjoy performance that is only 1 sec slower to 60 for a LOT less thank you. lol

The Tesla's are nice, but here's a great review from Chris Harris. I've sat in one and they do feel a bit sparse and cheap inside, more like a $50k interior. I'd be tempted by one if I had a long stop light heavy commute, but overall the silence and what feels to be more of a bland car has been turning me off of them more these days. His review of how the braking messes with performance driving, along with the suspension is great input. Of course the 0-60 is amazing, but a tuned RS7 wouldn't be too far behind. Besides, the Tesla slows down at 150mph anyhow:)

Screw Tesla

give me my raw V8 power and throw some turbos in for good measure.

Audi new generation has lost it for me and my daily is my Porsche. Never thought I would say that.

But another long time multi RS6 owner has recently jumped ship for a new Porsche Panamera turbo.

Dont worry. Audi will sell plenty of the crap boxes A3, Q5s to water down the brand and make it insignificant
