2003 Audi RS6 is the car.
Mileage is about 120K.
Timing belt service done summer of 2016.

Have owned this car going on maybe 7 years and it has never let me down nor left me stranded.........until this morning!

Any help would be greatly helpful.

What happened:
Friday morning going to work, stopped at a red light then the car shuts off and still has not run since Friday. Turns over like normal just won't start up.

From a quick search while waiting for tow truck results seem to point towards faulty fuse or relay? Fuel pump 20A fuse is fine. Not sure which relay to address if any.


Any ideas, advice? Besides the obvious......go pick up an RS3........

Any chance this could be a failed fuel pump? Would a failed fuel pump create a short to all my injectors? Doesn't really make sense but maybe?

Update, found fuse #32 (ecu fuse). Replaced it and it tried to start then blew again. What could be shorting fuse #32? Visual inspection doesn't uncover any grounded wires.

That does make total sense......the last couple of days I have seen small coolant puddles being left under that exact same location. Then this 'shut down' happens. Guessing this valve runs on the same circuit as my injectors and ECU?

Need to replace this valve.

That was exactly the issue. I disconnected that valve, replaced the 20 amp fuse and she sparked right up!

Now just have to order a new valve before driving the car.

Do you know what that valve controls the coolant flow to? Gonna research as well but figured I'd ask as well just in case I don't find helpful info.

It is a circuit for the after run coolant pump. UK models, and some others I assume, too, do not have this.

They introduced this valve around 2004 mid-year. The system was designed without it prior to that. Radiator also got an extra nipple - and that's why there are 2 different non-interchangeable radiator styles.

Resurrecting this old thread. I have a 2004 RS6 Avant I just picked up & taking care of maintenance items, including a coolent leak. Looks like the leak may be coming from the "Coolent Circulation Valve", part number '4B3 121 411', which seems to be discontinued & out of stock so far in all my searching. While digging for this part, I came across this thread & wondering if the 'N214 Valve for Coolent Circulation' is the same as '4B3121411 - Coolent Circulation Valve'. After seeing this article I started digging for an N214 valve hoping that might be what I need or if i can find some other updated part number.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction to find either part # 4B3121411 or some comparable/updated replacement valve?

Just searched "Audi Coolant circulation Valve". These look like they use the same plug and have the same size inlet/outlet.
