Heavy rear end hit, apparently frame damage, right rear. No trunk lid, tail lights. Daytona Grey car, mechanically excellent, 01E, KWV3, 19" Rotiforms, new Michelin Pilot Sports, black leather in excellent shape, CF trim etc.

Motor turbos etc all stock, nubcake tune, 160k on the car.

What would I expect to make in a part out and what are the most valuable parts?

Thx

No just nobody wants to buy the car. Id be doing everyone a favor cutting it up and not devaluing our cars settling for a lowball.

I think the amount you could get largely depends on how much work you are willing to do. If you tear the car apart and put all the pieces on ebay, you could probably get a lot, but it's going to take a long time and a lot of work on your part. A lot of the parts are valuable, but it's a pretty limited market and unfortunately, there seems to be a fair number of part-outs right now. The engine is certainly worth a decent amount, and the front clip is very valuable to someone that just ran into something!

Based on what you are describing, I think you could make $5k to $7k back pretty easily with not much work and just focusing on the big-ticket items: wheels, coil-overs, engine, front-bumper/clip and 6-speed swap kit. Interior stuff could get you another grand pretty easy, and brakes probably close to another grand for everything, especially if the rotors are in good shape. Steering rack, fans, electronics, exhaust, etc.. etc... Again, it adds up if you are willing to sit on a pile of parts for a while and manage the selling and shipping hassles.

Honestly, whenever I see a complete RS6 going for under $10K, I get really tempted to just buy it as a spare...

How many RS6's have been hulked out? Are we past the 10% range yet (i.e. 100'ish) or is it even more than that?

Thx GreggPDX. Good info. The trouble is I live in a small town so large parts like doors, motor etc means shipping, which is a royal pain. Been there, done that.

That's possible but I won't know for a while. I'll let you know when I decide
