126k miles. No mods, ever. Many road trips.

Tozo replaced my Torque Converter about 4k miles ago, which was replaced about 60k miles before that.

Winter wheels are on it for the picture but summer Stock RS6 wheels are on it now:
https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/6106821778.html

New water pump, timing belt, brakes.

Asking $15k from the educated buyers here on the forum, but I need to replace 3 strut hoses before I sell.

Since most of you have replaced the DRC with coil overs, I want to see if any potential buyers want to do that.

I will knock 2k off the price if you buy it without the repair, so you can get a nice set of KWs or whatever

I bought this car brand new for $90,000 and have always treated it like it was worth that much.

Hoping a real enthusiast takes her and treats her right. :'(

Need advice. I dont want to replace the hoses to keep the DRC intact if the general consensus is to replace it with coilovers.

So... just switch to coilovers?

If anybody has an "as is" price in mind PM me

Personal opinion: sell it as-is. Your price is good, and the offer to knock $2K off for the struts is very fair. Coil-overs are a personal preference thing. Some people want low and stiff, an others want to stay closer to stock.

If you really want to fix it, you might consider just doing the Koni replacement struts/shocks. They are fairly cheap (under $1K) and are reasonably close to stock height and ride.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the informed opinions I get from everybody out here.

It seems like the majority of the Beastmasters on this forum have done the coilover swap, and $1k would be less than it would cost to get the DRC back in working order.

I'll give the 'as is' buyers a few more days to come in with a decent offer then just get the coilovers and make the swap.

Any particular model I should avoid? There is a significant price jump from one to the other. I'd hate to drop $1k on a suspension that people might not want. But the DRC decision has been made. Thank you again.

To be clear, the Koni's are not technically coilovers. they are actually just replacing the factory DRC struts/shocks with Koni units. You retain the factory springs which is why the ride and height stay close to stock. For details on the Koni's, check this thread:

http://www.rs6.com/showthread.php/23946-Completed-DIY-DRC-removal-swap-with-Koni-Yellow-Sports?highlight=koni+diy

For true coilovers, popular choices are the Bilstein PSS9 and KW variant 3. Both of those are around $2K and both are going to be quite a bit stiffer than stock, although they allow adjustable ride hide and damping, so you can tune them to your liking. I had the Bilsteins on an A4, and even at the softest setting, were still pretty stiff.

There are not many (any) coilover setups for $1K that I would recommend.

Understood. Thank you very much for your expertise. This forum is great.

track car / weekend racer / you like going to the dentist to get your fillings put back in = coilovers

daily driver / stop light drag car / something that is easy to set up and live with daily = konis

Just my opinion.

Depending on what it costs to have the Konis installed, might make sense to just do that, or sell as-is. I was able to get them during the annual sale for under $700 shipped and installed them myself so it was very inexpensive.

Im interested. ( these cars are additive) does it have the warm weather package? How's the paint condition? Any rust problems? Condition of the soft touch buttons?

Does not have the warm weather package. The paint condition is amazing. It stands out, and I get complimented all the time. No rust. Soft touch buttons? They all work, and most of the ones on the doors are peeling their clear coat.

Ya my soft touch button question was referring to the condition of all the buttons on the radio/climate controls/light switch etc.

Does the front have rock chips? Any paint color fading?

Condition of tires? What are the second set of wheels/tires? (I know you mentioned winters)

And you have not replace the drc right? Would it make a road trip back to WA?

And clean accident history?

Some lady backed into it 3 years ago and they had to replace the front bumper, so the rock chips are minimal. You can see from one of the pictures that there is a worn spot by the drivers side front wheel. There is a scratch on the back bumper and a small one on the trunk from a CB antenna. There is no fading at all, the color still pops.

Tires are good. I have a set of winters Bridgestone Blizzak.

DRC not replaced but there is a leak in the front right strut hose. I would ship it rather than risk damaging the system on a 2,000 mile road trip through the mountains.

No accidents in 14 years of owning it. That lady backed into the front left corner and the repair was done a Ultimate Paint Shop in Lake Bluff, IL.

edit: soft touch buttons are decent. I will post pics of them tonight. some of them have peeling, as you might guess.

Do you have access to vagcom?

I vouch for this car, saw it in person and have sat in it. Not my favorite color on RS, but it does look amazing, car is clean and well taken care off. Who ever buys it will be happy, guaranteed!
