Tranny output flange and seal

After replacing my front control arms and one axel boot I still have a slight clunking noise when going into reverse and/or when wheel turning radius is fully extended. My mechanic has diagnosed it as the tranny output flange and seal.

There was a thread on here however now is only viewable via archive: http://www.rs6.com/archive/index.php/t-25719.html

Mechanic took apart my existing output flange and seal and cleaned it up and put it back together which improved the issue but did not resolve. We could not find correct part #'s at the time and Audi Dealer was of no assistance. Mechanic suggests getting it replaced which he could attempt or I can bring to a trans specialist.

I'm trying to determine if this part which is described as a upgrade forA8 as seen on http://forums.quattroworld.com/a8/msgs/32544.phtml is the correct part for the RS6.

If the link is not the correct part to fit the RS6 does anyone have the correct OEM P/N's and/or suitable aftermarket upgrade parts info to fix this issue?

Think this can be filed under asked and answered: I just spoke with John from Ericksson Industries (ZF distributor) 1-800-388-4418

he was very helpful confirming that the RS6 5HTP uses the same output shaft shaft flange parts as the A8.

http://forums.quattroworld.com/a8/msgs/89047.phtml (http://forums.quattroworld.com/a8/msgs/89047.phtml)

"The output flange ZF part number is 1058-336-122 $123.56
The Plate with the seal ZF part number is 1060-236-063 $58.40
Filter (3/4" pipe) ZF part number is 0501-006-460 $38.01
Gasket Pan ZF part number is 1058-303-015 $20.76

Audi Stealers want more than double for these things.

Additional info that I figured after i took everything. I had to get the following parts:

Make sure that you also order:
1. the square shaped O-ring for the cover/plate with seal.
2. My ATF Filter did not come with its O-ring.
3. the ATF fill and drain plugs with their seals."

Hope this helps others troubleshoot this issue :)

I would also recommend to change transmission electrical connector O-ring ( you need two ) part# 01V927322A
