Does anyone have a step by step upgrade path for the Bose system in our cars, starting with the speakers ? Please only experienced people reply. The reason I say this is that Bose seems to be a love / hate relationship with many owners. The stock system sounds pretty good, actually better than my S6. No disrespect to any members intended or implied.

Infinity speakers seem to have some love.

I have an older Pioneer Avic z installed by PO that I hacked to a z3 in mine. Uses existing speakers and the Bose amp, albeit the 3rd one. Replacing receiver shortly with another Pioneer avh 5500 bhs that I bought through the classifieds here. Keeping the existing speakers and the bose amp. Would probably go with a JL Audio 5 channel if the bose goes again.

I went with infinity reference speakers in my 2 audis to upgrade to Bose speakers and they sound much better with the RNSE. The key to make the swap simple is to make sure the speakers you install are 2 ohm given that is how the stock bose amp works.

seems backwards to me - I put in an Appradio (so as to have a head unit that's like, modern?) and have it connected to the stock Bose system. A few EQ tweaks on the head unit and I'm quite happy with the sound - definitely better than the stock head unit. Plus having smartphone-driven apps and a touchscreen is nice.

any issues fitting wires in behind head unit? Do you need an adapter? I have read that it is tight behind the head unit? I have had mine out to install DiceLink years ago.....

Which model did you use? Crutchfield says it does not fit A6..?? I was going to get one of these but did not want GRIEF! LOL

I'd be giving up Sat Radio since I am not interested in dropping a grand on a complete system, but figured I'd use the link to the iPhone to do that via the web app.....not sure if it is worth the bother....

Hello, I was wondering if you had to change out any trim pieces, plugs , harnesses or anything after swapping out the single din to the RNSE?
