Have heard that the replacement trans for the TC/Trans issue is stronger than the older units. Can anyone provide details. Thanks for any and all help. Be safe.

TC is easy, $500, many companies. Trans is $3-6k, slightly stronger. There are a few threads on this front page discussing it. Figure $5-10k labor and all parts...

Only really needed if you're tuned and drive hard.

Thanks. Just have not seen and specifics of exactly was done to strengthen it. Have been to your web site and enjoyed it. Lots of good stuff.

Thanks! And welcome to the forum. My rebuilt trans has an extra clutch pack and increased valve body pressure for tighter shifts. Some companies offer custom high strength clutches and assorted internals. Still seems to be hit and miss (expensive) on the upgrades. Stock trans seems to be fine with stock power, or tuned and not hammered on.

The TC can be rebuilt by Tozo, Ace/Edge, and is just an upgraded seal. The original TC failed in many cars and took the trans with it, hence the comman trans failures.

Anyhow, one hell of a car, just a bit extra $$$ at times.

Use Google, "site:RS6.com trans rebuild", jump back then click link again if you get the spam garbage.
