Well, it doesn't rain in AZ anyhow...I checked out a 2010 c63 AMG but it was cramped inside.

CL and CLS63 feel like the RS6 size driver compartment.

I have 4 door beasts...just not sure a 2 door is in the cards. But a friend of a friend is parting with his black/ black 30k mile car in perfect condition. Same guy has 2....yes 2 CL65 black series cars.

CL 63 is a very nice ride, AMG GT S (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Benz-Other-AMG-GT-2dr-Coupe-S-/301838673330?hash=item4646fca5b2:g:esgAAOSwJkJWiAS x&vxp=mtr) 2dr Coupe's are also worth taking a look at & anything in black series line as well (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Benz-Other-AMG-GT-2dr-Coupe-S-/301838673330?hash=item4646fca5b2:g:esgAAOSwJkJWiAS x&vxp=mtr):race:

If you are talking two doors on the dark side (i.e. the cheaper to repair side) then I vote BMW 1-Series M

Too small on the 1m

I dont think I can do the CL....style or 2 door. Even with the steal of a price.

Its got to be

C5 RS6 avant project
12 CLS63
12 E63 wagon

With a slight chance of a 13 A8 4.0tt ... just because Manhiem prices in socal have gotten in the 30s.

Must fit mtn bike in the back and have a tt V8.

the A8L i turned in is still on the lot. They want 50 k CPO, 35000 miles...2013 black with black...

I just looked at Manheim, I see these crazy prices you speak of...Wow. That is like a high 30s three year residual - terrible.

Terrible for someone.....is a gold mine on the other side.

8 just went thru Riverside today...all of them vw financial.

Drive it for a year and sell. S8s are too strong right now....there are a ton of A8 4.0tts in socal and it keeps prices down.

I bought my 05 SL65 for $47k. 1 calendar year later, I could only get $37k for it. I've never taken that bad of a bath on a car before. AMG's are THE most depreciating cars. NEVER again. If I ever go Euro again...and I may...it will be a new S8...Those cars really chub me up...

Dave, you should get some seat time in a CTS-V wagon. No where near the quality of euro stuff, but oh the power and sound of a real pushrod V8, with some forced induction...Love my 4 door hotrod...:incar:

Dave, E63 Wagon is on my radar as well, but a '13 model as it has 4Matic. With a tune the '12 RWD would be unmanageable!

'13 facelift is nice as well.

Yeah, I hear ya tt ^^

I cant get around the cabin and windows of the ctsv wagon.

The smart move is 2013 A8 with 4.0tt and slap a tune on it. Baby S8

Supply and demand have hit a sweet spot for a daily beat around vehicle and i like the curves of the 13 A8.

CL63 looks like a Acura TL. Not for me

Hey Mark

My huge worry is the depreciation cliff the 12 E63 wagon is about to hit. There still bringing 60s where i can buy a clean 13 A8tt for high 30s. The better choice would be 14 4matic....but this is a beater for me.

I just need to build the C5 RS6 avant as my daily.

Houston we have a problem

CL63 is impressive in person. Car is mint black, black, black wood, Vossens + oem wheels and loaded.

30k miles and 165msrp for 50k. Plus I get stage 1 ecu and tcu flash

Smart money is on this deal. I pay no sales tax or plate fees

I'm well past the 2-door phase. 4-door (maybe wagon) all day long. But that CL63 is sharp. Remember it's an AMG and where is the bottom end of the market? You're a smart guy, if you can make the numbers work for a period then go for it. I cringe at the hit ttboost took though.

I just sold my 2011 C63. Amazing car. I drove the newer biturbo, and it just didn't feel as visceral. Something about 6.2 liters of raw fury.

Most fun I've ever had in a car.

Drove a CL65AMG - honestly wasn't impressed.

The owner still has it due to an unwillingness to accept that a $185K car is now worth $45K...

Yeah, I feel his pain...you don't know what depreciation is until you own a AMG car...

I was also amazed that a car with 600+ HP and well over 700 lb. ft. of torque didn't actually feel that fast....or should I say "didn't feel as fast as I expected with that sort of power on tap"

Yeah, my SL65 didn't feel terribly fast stock, although it do go well, but with a tune, it was an animal...10.99 on my second pass...almost 4700lbs with me in it...would rather have my $10k back and say I never did it...

I have not driven the V12tt so I could not comment. Also dont know what year you drove

Not really apples to apples here but driving a 13 S6 is just blah for me at this point. Plus the real depreciation has not hit the S6 as prices for a msrp 80k car are too high.

Same 50k buys me a mint CL63 V8tt with 30k miles and stickered for 165k. I was happy with the drive of the V8tt and a stage1 tune is plenty good for me.

I wasn't going to chime in when earlier you said a 2012 CL63 didn't do it for you... seeing as its an Audi forum (for a dinosaur of a model nonetheless, but I love mine, even sitting with a busted trans lol).... but that car is one bad ass MFer!! Get it!! They do depreciate but its done most of it already and that is a real deal luxury & fast car. That ain't your grandpa's Audi.... or Benz. And its so big the two doors isn't a normal 2 doors, easy ingress and egress to rear seats, just push button, seat moves forward and jump in thru that loooong door and plenty room in back. I'm pretty sure its built on full size S class chassis. That thing is like a fortress inside, interior off the charts. I had one before, loved it.

I have a '07 SL65 now, and I don't know who might have driven what V12TT AMG car but if it didn't scare the sh-t out of you - you either didn't step on the gas or it wasn't running right. My driveline is all stock and its so wicked fast it makes all other cars seem slow, for real, and I have few other pretty fast cars to compare to, TT Porsches etc.. They're heavy like a SOB, all those cars, and you feel it big time. My SL65 the over-riding feeling you get when driving it is "I could seriously wreck this MFer if I don't pay attention" LOL... but not really funny. Turn traction control off and you put your life in your own hands, literally. But highway cruising any of those cars.... forget about it..... everything else, just park it. Get it!! You'll love it.

Its growing on me. ^^ and you are correct about most of the depreciation. 30k miles and built on the S class platform. Comfort, style and bad fast.

I rather like that style CL... Friend of mine just sold his '03 CL55, but that was a fast and extremely impressive car! Cost more and now worth less than my RS6, but certainly faster and more lavish. If I didn't need to get anywhere in any weather condition, I might have scooped it up; I think it sold for 10% of its original MSRP this year...

...I don't know who might have driven what V12TT AMG car but if it didn't scare the sh-t out of you - you either didn't step on the gas or it wasn't running right..

IIRC, the car I drove is a 2009 model. I stepped on the gas alright, but the road I was on set a practical limit of about 100 mph, and it honestly didn't feel as fast as I thought it would, given the power figures. Up to about 100 mph, it's no quicker than my ~420hp tuned S4 or my stock S6. The 1/4 mile trap speed, though indicates that the 605+hp must all be there somewhere - nearly 119 mph is nothing to sneeze at. Between the weight, turbo lag and 5 speed transmission, though, the power gets sort of buried, around town at least...

Contemporary tests showed that the V-12TT "-65s" aren't as quick/fast as the V-8TT "-63s."

Contemporary tests showed that the V-12TT "-65s" aren't as quick/fast as the V-8TT "-63s."More stroke in the V8 engines to produce similar displacement with 4 less cylinders. Bound to be more torque as a result and everyone knows torque rules the acceleration rhelm - especially heavier cars like these.

Well I just added #4 RS6 to the garage.

What the heck. Pat's coming down next week....i got plenty of car projects. #4 needs a Bufkin and we are good to go.

I still may take the CL.
